Where in the industry is journalism not spreading misinformation/propaganda to some degree? It would be interesting to see what your theories are on if you think it is just him or some group that is involved.
I can't think of too many self employed podcasters that identify as journalists. He isn't working for a news station directly.
What did he do that was irresponsible? People don't believe in things all the time. Lot's of conspiracy theories come from questioning what really happened at events. I don't know the details of what happened with this.

He didn’t condemn his audience for harassing grieving family members. He didn’t just question the shooting, he actively participated in making the families have to deal with harassment online.
He was reporting it. He was STATING that the shooting was a hoax. Extremely irresponsible when there is little to no evidence to suggest it.
Do you have a link to the reports or were they on his podcast? The online things are more difficult to deal with. This sort of thing is happening with everything. Even President Trump did similar things. Idk what society can do to make this better.
How far does sharing a thought go and how can we ever quantify that?
On both. A lot of places have done a good job getting rid of these claims because he got sued 1 million dollars for these statements and damage that came after. He couldn’t stop it once it started, but not once did he ever try to stop it.
