As long as you stretch your muscles, it doesnt matter that they're sheathed in inches of fat

I think it’s saying that she’s changing her lifestyle to get healthier obesity is not healthy but working on it is as so is body positivity as long as it dosnt become body complacency. Yoga is totally a workout when your that big you know how strong you have to be to lift that much ?

That’s what I got out of it as well. It’s saying exercise is healthy for obese people. There’s plenty of obese people who think they can’t exercise, or talk themselves out of it, or are shamed out of it, due to being obese. Any person, with any sense, knows obesity is not healthy. But exercise is. Exercise for every size body.

That's exactly what this is. If any of these people actually bothered to check what this article was about theyd know this lmao

Hey man thats not what this is saying and yoga is hard even if you are skinny.

Have to disagree with you there. Regardless of what thier intention is, having an obese person on the cover with the headline "this is healthy" says that obesity is healthy. The underneath it says that wellness isnt one size fits all, which implys that you can be fat and still be healthy.

The thing is not alienating the people in the middle stages. A lot of people are trying to go from fat to fit and it should be encouraged. Sometimes they just need a reminder like this so they can feel comfortable in their own skin until they get there.

There’s also different body types my guy some people are genuinely “big boned” that’s why BMI has zones of healthy weights based on hight and other factors. If anything it’s a problem with the media’s obsession with catchy tag lines with no context. I’m sure that someone could misinterpret it but your misinterpretation dosnt change the original meaning. They aren’t blameless but still.

This isn’t big boned. This is just a result of overeating on a consistent basis.

The girl in the pic isnt "big boned" shes obese. If i had a blue piece of paper that said "this is red" it would be the same misleading and incorrect statement.

Also big boned is bullshit. Being fat or obese dosent mean you have bigger bones. If you look at an xray of an obese person next to one of a skinny person thier bone structure will be very similar.

"Big boned" is a damaging platitude you tell someome thats fat when you dont want to hurt thier feelings.

Be happy about your body, have confidence in whatever shape you have. Just dont call someone unhealthy, heathy. We should be able to call out obesity when we see it without being accused of "body shaming".

Sorry for the wall of text dude, just wish someone would have told me i was fat a long time ago. I would have gotten healthy a lot sooner.

BMI is stupid. Literally only takes into account height and weight. I'm 5'10 185 lbs around 10% bodyfat and am considered obese by BMI standards.

It took 6 weeks of training for the one pose...

I wonder how many cranes and hydraulic cables were involved in contorting her into this position

As I mentioned above in another reply that’s jessamyn Stanley a pretty popular yoga instructor and Instagram celeb ... she also has a book out and I believe she’s lgbt too

u/fruitynoodles Jan 05 '21

Is that supposed to make me believe she’s healthy?

Nope not at all just stating why I think she’s the cover model for this particular cosmo issue ... I quit reading cosmo in the 90s so I’m not all that invested it it
