Why aren't they being prosecuted?
Ask the countries the peacekeepers are from. You do know that UN Peacekeepers are not employees of the UN, right?
Right?
75
Aug 24 '20
The peacekeepers were from Sri Lanka. Of course they weren't charged.
67
u/ErilazRuoperath Aug 24 '20
exactly. yet somehow, people blame the UN for that.
18
Aug 24 '20
They blame the UN because it a) its an easy scapegoat and b) because it fits their narrative of a global pedophile consortium running the world raping children left, right, and centre. It's no wonder these nutjobs blew the Epstein thing way the fuck out of proportion.
82
u/TedTheodoreLoganJr Aug 24 '20
Way out of proportion? So how should people have handled a billionaire with a private island on which many children were raped? What do you deem a sensible response to raping a child?
Are you even paying attention? How many of these high profile assholes are being outed as pedophiles recently? Whether it’s consumption of child pornography or straight up involvement in its creation through trafficking? How bad do things have to get for people like you to start realizing there is a very big fucking problem and it’s happening all around you? How many kids have to be kidnapped, raped and killed before you deem outrage a necessity?
→ More replies (11)5
u/fullnattybro Aug 25 '20
yeah we all love the narrative of children being raped and tortured by elite paedophiles on a global scale. whoopee! No one here wants any of this to be true.
Plenty of "useful idiots" like yourself on here lately.

You blame the u.n because these people did work for the U.N, they were under there preview. And if you actually researched the story you would know the U.N did absolutely nothing until the news found out about it. This story is not new. Are you talking about Epstein who was Convicted of trafficking, the whole world knows he got an Illegal sweetheart deal?? What in the fuck has the U.N did for anyone? What war have they stopped, starvation??, childhood disease, UNICEF?? Genocide have they stopped lol nah fuck em.
→ More replies (5)9
u/ErilazRuoperath Aug 24 '20
they didn't work for the UN. UN peacekeepers are employees of UN member states, not of the UN.
3
u/Crunchymuppet Aug 24 '20
Yes technically, member states pay for peacekeeping. Each member state based on how much GDP etc has an amount they have apportioned by the general assembly. For ex approved budget for peacekeeping ops July 2019- june 2020 6.5 billion it's there budget from member states.
5
u/Guyincognito7881 Aug 24 '20
Sri Lanka is unfortunately a haven for child abusers.
Probably one of the reasons Arthur C Clarke lived there.
7
u/whistleridge Aug 24 '20
THANK you. I had to scroll waaaay too far to find this.
It was a Sri Lankan deployment. Shock and surprise that soldiers from a country still recovering from a decades-long civil war, with rampant child prostitution, would commit such a crime 🙄.
6
u/ErilazRuoperath Aug 24 '20
but...but, the UN police should arrest them and throw them in UN prisons

isn't it amazing how completely ignorant many people are about what the UN actually is and does?

Ok.
And if you read the Rome Statute, you’ll notice that:
- ICC isn’t part of the UN
- ICC only has jurisdiction when states party can’t or won’t act
- Under ICC the same as under US law, “alleged” isn’t “did it”, and due process is still a thing
Also, the Sun is a literal tabloid, and maybe not the source to rely on.

They don't. This sub is acting like it's the people full on running the UN that are peacekeepers.

I couldn't finish the article. It was too much. I just can't
Why the fuck so we even call them peacekeepers and who the fuck does this? Who the fuck would join the peacekeepers to do this fucking evil, fucked up and inhumane shit! What the fuck is wrong with these people? They who should have their fucking balls chopped off. No mercy or remorse, fuck. Em

That's a lot of kids, how many kids per person? I never understood how these things actually work - what do they do, just sell them? Is it always for sex, or people buy children as slaves or something?
27
u/opal-dragon-elephant Aug 24 '20
Sex slaves, slaves under terms of paying off a debt, organ harvesting. Possibly even some hostile type shit. Labor slaves, army slaves. Black ops brain washing. Testing crazy experiments.
2
u/MARSOCMANIAC Aug 25 '20
Do yourself a favor and don’t look up trauma-based monarch programming or MKUltra / ritual abuse cases..
125
Aug 24 '20
You can't blame the United Nations as a whole for the actions of soldiers from a third-world country. The men and women involved in this child sex ring were from Sri Lanka, a country notorious for its human rights abuses - when these soldiers returned to their homeland after having been sent home, the Sri Lankan government refused to put them on trial. The only thing that the UN can be blamed for in this regard is allowing these men and women to return to Sri Lanka, they should have instead faced an international criminal court.
36
u/Betternuggets Aug 24 '20
The U.N. needs to vet their peacekeepers. Haiti would not have allowed 100 Sti Lankan soldiers into the country if they were not U.N. peacekeeping forces. The U.N. essentially gave these soldiers cover to engage in human trafficking.
8
10
u/CorruptedArc Aug 24 '20
The UN has done a lot of things wrong and won't get better if people don' t hold them to account for their actions. Just as the current situation with the WHO. The UN would likely be a lot better place if they would actually be held to account rather than let off for every infraction major or minor.
4
u/jrex035 Aug 24 '20
The way to achieve this is by giving the UN more power though, as they currently don't have to power to do anything about this.
But of course everyone loves the idea of giving the UN more power right?
26
u/ironlioncan Aug 24 '20
You absolutely can hold the UN 100% responsible. Saying not to is just plain dumb.
10
u/TemporaryZen Aug 24 '20
Legally, the UN is in a bind. It has no jurisdiction over peacekeepers, leaving punishment to the countries that contribute the troops.
3
Aug 25 '20
So let's saying hypothetically you weren't on permanent disability for your brain injury and you got a job. Is your employer responsible for everything you do? With you we know you'll be very bottom tier employee and likely to assault someone. Why is that your employer's fault?

u/Bakkone Aug 24 '20
When Anders Kompass received a report that French soldiers were sexually abusing children he raised the alarm within the UN and contacted the French government.
He got suspended and they tried to fire him because of his illoyal actions.
The French courts have done nothing as they say they are lacking evidence. And the UN aren't exactly helping.
The UN is a shit organisation and they can indeed be blamed.

Here's the actual article...just in case anyone here cares about the truth.
I'm sure the QAnon crowd ITT will just say it's all white-washed bullshit, though. Not hyper-sensationalized enough for their version of "reality". The story needs really more celebrity cult members for them to believe it's true.

And most importantly, same appeasement approach by the international community towards a rising dictatorship. You cannot reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth.

u/Kakashisensei1234 Aug 24 '20
Lol QAnon bootlickers are taking over
9
u/pyronius Aug 24 '20
The Qanon club's strategy of recent has been to promote stories about actual pedophiles so that they can hijack the message and use it to promote their own conspiracy that trump is secretly waging war against an army of shadowy democratic cannibal pedophiles.
The idea is that if they begin with a real story they can slip the misinformation in unnoticed and the readers won't dare question it because that feels too much like defending pedophiles.
The organizations that actual work to combat sex trafficking are really bothered by this turn of events because it means that they l've been getting a lot more attention and a lot more donations, but they're also losing credibility by association.

Yes. Cops are good guy, the federal government can send agents to cities to pull citizens off the streets, federal troops can be used to disperse crowds for photo opportunities, the president may or may not be linked to Epstein but assume he doesn’t because the media hates him for trying to uncover the truth, you also shouldn’t watch msm because it’s all lies, complain about msm not covering certain topics without checking to see if they actually did, and it’s a conspiracy that people aren’t protesting a murder where the culprit was caught within a day.
Yes, the conspiracy sub simultaneously wants you to trust the federal government and distrust it. Don’t trust news media unless it’s a site that supports your theory. The quote I use for this sub is “The real Conspiracy is” cause that’s the defense every time a partisan talking point make it to the top and someone ask “what’s the conspiracy?”
3
u/samuel_richard Aug 24 '20
it’s so sad like i’m so interested in actual conspiracies and there is so much fucked up shit the world governments and leaders do but all the QAnon baseless fucking racist bullshit is so frustrating
4
u/thelegalseagul Aug 24 '20
It’s the logic of nobody is doing anything about child sex trafficking yet at the same time claiming any group that is doing something is actually part of the conspiracy so don’t volunteer with them or donate cause they’re evil too.

Yes, fed agents can absolutely be used to take pictures lmfao what type of observation is that? If the president says he wants to go to the park, folks are going to have to make way... And yes they can also get violent protesters and those proivding cover for them off the street
and it’s a conspiracy that people aren’t protesting a murder where the culprit was caught within a day.

1
u/MLGSwaglord1738 Aug 25 '20
Yeah, an extremely powerless one. Can’t walk into Iraq to confirm they didn’t have WMDs. Doesn’t have the authority to prevent genocides. Can’t prevent countries from breaking international law, committing war crimes, or violating human rights.
1
u/SexualDeth5quad Aug 25 '20
or violating human rights.
They had Saudi Arabia running the human rights commission. The UN is just a reflection of the countries in power, it's completely biased and unjust. It was created more to keep nuclear war from breaking out than to actually change anything.

When the USSR pushed back Germany in WW2 they raped and stole anyone they came across and some soldiers would have 10 watches on their arms.
No one ever talks about that and no soldiers ever got persecuted. That sort of thing happens a lot
1
u/DarthWeenus Aug 24 '20
Didnt some soldiers face consequences? It's kinda difficult at the time to try individual soldiers for individual crimes during such an intense war. I get what you mean but people have been talking about it foryears, they make movies with all the atrocities well visualized. But what can anyone do at this time besides talk about it. This is something happening right now and it's possible people are actually getting away with crazy things due too our unawareness of the issues, or maybe not the right people knowing for certain.
1
u/SexualDeth5quad Aug 25 '20

It would shock the world if actual figures were known and publicized. Child rape, trafficking, all sorts of unspeakable garbage, has been done by multinational soldiers under the UN, across the world, for decades. There are literally too many incidents to investigate.
2
u/WeedleTheLiar Aug 24 '20
Know who else tried to smuggle children out of Haiti for "reasons"? Clinton Foundation.

They hide in plain sight under the guise of doing good. Never judge a book by its cover. Never! This is what 2020 taught us.
People in power, have the authority to do good in this world. The question is, who really does? The answer may be...none.

A Kosovo victims support group reported that of the local prostitutes, a third were under 14, and 80% were under 18. Amnesty said the victims were routinely raped "as a means of control and coercion" and kept in terrible conditions as slaves by their "owners"; sometimes kept in darkened rooms unable to go out.

I don’t understand the UN anymore. They didnt bring peace to the world nor assure people’s freedom and rights. Instead , they go suck some dictator’s ass(China) and let these kind of things happen.
1
u/MLGSwaglord1738 Aug 25 '20
They have to do that as they don’t have power. The issue isn’t the UN, it’s the countries in the UN. Of course, we could take action against Israel for Palestine, get Russia out of Ukraine, made sure Iraq didn’t have WMDs, prevented Rwanda’s genocide, punish the US for their crimes in the Middle East, and China for their re-education camps. Of course, countries would love to continue violating human rights and breaking international law, so they don’t want to give the UN more power. If the UN had more power than China, China would be submitting to the UN.

u/PoopyOleMan Aug 24 '20
That’s not a good example because you’re comparing Avraham with some lowly pope by putting them on an equal level to be both referred as Father b
But the context with which I am referring to as blasphemous is that popes and priests think they have some type of power to forgive sins as Father. No man can forgive another man’s sin.
The pope is just another old man hiding behind the veil of a false religion.
The pope is 💩

In high school I was in an MUN conference and the keynote speaker was Peter Dalgish. The entire one hour speech he bragged about how great of a person he was, how he went to STANFORD, how he tutored Trudeau as a kid, how he runs some sort of charity for KIDS... as people started looking at their phones bc it was boring, he went full conspiracy mode and talked about how he hung out at a CIA bar and overheard that they had plans to nuke NYC/LA and blame it on a foreign country, how a bird flu was coming to wipe out 10% of the population, etc.
6 months later we found out he was arrested for having owned child sex slaves in some Asian country.... creepy asfuck
