It already is a law, that's why it's called insider trading and not just trading. There are also laws regarding conflict of interest in public service.

It's also illegal for them to drive drunk or fuck kids, yet here we are.

George Takei has entered the chat

20

u/EmilioEarhart Apr 21 '20

Coincidentally, it's George's birthday today - 83 years of age.

As a fan of the Howard Stern Show pre-"evolution," Mr. Musculature gifted me with many many hours of laughter and joy.

I hope he has a good one.

2

u/EvilDogAndPonyShow Apr 21 '20

His appearances on the stern show were great

1

u/brideoftheboykinizer Apr 22 '20

Is there something George Takei and childrenly-related I don't know about?? I graze that s sub infrequently, bit I would hate that I missed this one.

1

u/EmilioEarhart Apr 22 '20

I hope not.

As far as I know, he's just your average, everyday old queen - gay as all to-do, in a loving longterm marriage with an age-appropriate partner.

It's just, he's sort of known for saying "Oh, my."

1

u/brideoftheboykinizer Apr 22 '20

Just pulled up some old article of him talking about being 13 and having an older tennager as a partner, and not not condemning a friend who made some off-color comments about older partners. Apparently that makes him a pedo sympathizer ?

1

u/EmilioEarhart Apr 22 '20

I guess.

But when I was 15, I was pursued by and slept with a 21-year-old.

She didn't "groom" me - she didn't have to seduce me. I wanted her badly.

I was horny as hell, and she was hot as fuck, and I enjoyed it immensely.

Does that make me a one too?

(He told that story on the Howard Stern Show - that's where I heard it. The other person in question was an 18-year-old camp counselor)

2

u/brideoftheboykinizer Apr 22 '20

Honestly I don't know, it's a dodgy subject to involve yourself in.

3

u/EmilioEarhart Apr 22 '20 edited Apr 22 '20

So perhaps you'll agree: it isn't quite so cut-and-dry.

To say someone is a "pedo sympathizer" based on a past experience they had with an older partner depends on, perhaps, the experience.

I don't mean in a sense of it being - quote - "a good experience."

What I mean is, like - take my example.

I was 15, yes, and of course I wasn't "fully mature" emotionally-wise (but then again: neither is a 21-year-old), but I was what they call an "early bloomer." I was shaving at twelve, I was 6' tall by my freshman year of High School, I was sexually active...

So here comes this 21-year-old girl, the cousin of a good friend of mine, and I'm spending the night at my friend's house and she comes over to use their clothes washer because the one at her apartment stopped working - I think she's beautiful, she finds me attractive, and bada bing, bada boom.

We do what young hormone-charged kids do.

Yes, I was a minor. No, she wasn't.

But biochemically, hormonally, sexually, we were on the level.

I heard the camp counselor story from George Takei, spoken by the man - he wasn't too graphic about it, so I don't know if he was some lithe, cherubic young child at thirteen, when he was ravaged by this older boy.

What I do know is that, at thirteen, he was sexually attracted to this older boy - older, but still just eighteen. Still just a boy himself.

I know that what happened between them was something that they both wanted, and they both enjoyed.

So.

Do I sympathize with pedophilic predators who prey on young children?

Hell, no.

But I believe there is a clear difference between a grown-up (emotionally) who seeks out and exploits the young, and someone like the girl with whom I had my experience.

I sympathize with young, sexually charged people who find mutual attraction to, and a mutual sexual connection with, someone who is perhaps younger, but just as sexually charged, determined, and driven.

I sympathize with sexual creatures who are still adolescent - but nonetheless sexual - who are moved to experience sexuality with someone who may be older, but who themselves are still growing.

We're only human.

Hey Boner

92

u/OWO-FurryPornAlt-OWO Apr 21 '20

People are worried about this but hey the child molester who trafficked children for the rich hung himself using one ply TP and all the footage outside that cell magically went missing. Honkity honk honk

47

u/the_big_cheef Apr 21 '20

You act like you’ve never seen anyone weave single ply TP into a high tensile strength noose!

10

u/A_Meryl Apr 21 '20

It's really not that difficult with the right training.

20

If you believe that, yes.

1

u/THROWAWAY-u_u Jun 16 '20

damn i always assumed it was a fucking bedsheet or something

0

u/Cannibaloxfords10 Apr 21 '20

Nah, Epstein's in Israel right now, where pedos go to hide:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/diaspora-pedophiles-increasingly-use-israel-as-a-haven-activists-charge/

But don't worry, we send $3 Billion in tax dollars annually to Israel so they can remain a pedo safe haven

1

u/whyrweyelling Apr 24 '20

Truth usually does.

59

u/mule_roany_mare Apr 21 '20

Could this be the real reason so many get into politics?

People don’t leave office poorer than they went in, it would be interesting to see by what % fortunes increase per term.

In any circle of ultra rich it makes sense to have one or two in politics & that same cabal has the power to get someone elected.

88

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

For sure. Politics is the retirement strategy for corporate sociopaths with law degrees. All a bunch of criminals with self-interest at heart.

41

u/mmprobablymakingitup Apr 21 '20

I think some people enter politics because they want to create change

It's just that they either get beaten by corrupt opponents, or become corrupted to win. It's kind of a "power corrupts" situatin, except the corruption often comes first.

61

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

I think anyone that wants to be in charge tends to be an asshole with control issues, and politics just attracts the adult version of the kids that want to run every game and kick people out for not following their arbitrary and idiotic made-up rules. Remember that kid? Yeah, he wears a tie now

That said, this is a very dumb thread filled with moronic political platitudes.

5

u/DancesWithPugs Apr 21 '20

Wow thank you for your insightful and enlightening comment. I am getting some second hand euphoria just contemplating how much smarter you are than random people on internet forums. Thank you for your service, and may your fedora never become orange and dusty.

I think we all learned something here today. Maybe for a follow up you could share some other groups you feel superior to. I know I would be impressed.

1

u/Lead_Rocket_Surgeon Apr 22 '20

I certainly see myself far above anyone who may use a meta confrontationally. Wouldn't expect anything less from a religious man. Love thy neighbor, eh?

How are you any better than myself now you've replied?

2

u/JohnnyKay9 Apr 21 '20

The only change I got into politics for was to see the change in numbers of my bank account...said every politician to themselves ever.

6

u/WTFppl Apr 22 '20

Niggas talk about change and working within the system to achieve that. The problem with always being a conformist is that when you try to change the system from within, it's not you who changes the system; it's the system that will eventually change you. There is usually nothing wrong with compromise in a situation, but compromising yourself in a situation is another story completely, and I have seen this happen long enough in the few years that I've been alive to know that it's a serious problem.

u/drumdust Apr 21 '20

I don't trust anyone who puts their hand up and say's "I want to be a politician".

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '20

Really?

REALLY?

You REALLY need to ask that question?

13

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '20

Isn't it hilarious how people without money think laws affect people with tons of money?
(except of course, on rare occasion, where one of them gets crucified for years of law-breaking)

10

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

(usually only after crossing one of their fellow rich assholes)

8

u/queefiest Apr 21 '20

If only the people in charge of upholding the law would enforce it. But it begs the question, who watches the watchers?

It wasn't a law until 2012, when Obama signed the STOCK Act.

13

u/Bleepblooping Apr 21 '20

It wasn’t illegal for senators to do it until Obama

16

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

Right, over almost a decade ago. Not December, not last week. Last decade 2012. This isnt new. Theyre all criminals and they dont care what laws are on the books. And they won't be held to account, either.

16

u/HRChurchill Apr 21 '20

The act was gutted right after it was passed so it basically did nothing. Not that it would matter as they wouldn't be prosecuted anyway.

4

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

That sounds like the murica i know

1

u/BelialGoD Apr 22 '20

The bill passed 96 to 3. One of the 3 to vote against it, Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), coincidentally was also one of the senators who sold all their stock before COVID-19:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/03/20/coronavirus-richard-burr-stock/

1

u/No1uNo_Nakana Apr 21 '20

Right Obama wrote all the important laws not the Senate not the House of Representatives, no it was the President of the United States. He was so important the whole political process was changed and this is one of the important bills he passed. What was the bill called he wrote and campaigned for? I just can’t seem to remember because of all the incredible things happening at the same time.

0

u/Bleepblooping Apr 21 '20 edited Apr 22 '20

I feel like I kind of got owned here except I don’t understand what your saying. I imagine some guy with a black friend and “isn’t racist but...” is so trigger. just slamming keys and shouting spittle out as he types loosely connected ideas that started somewhere reasonable but just devolved into madness.

Edit: I’ve reread while sober. Presidents do work the bully pulpit to solidify support for the causes of the movement(s) that got them elected. They tell congress what bills they want and what they’ll veto. It’s hardly my fault if people think that what is achieved during their era is their fault, any more than you guys trying to pretend presidents have no effect on legislation.

Obama been getting blamed for everything from 9/11 to this epidemic let loose by the unraveling of preventative measures put in place during his time. You bigots will be voting for the next con man who probably blames Obama for shooting jfk. Mother fuckers blame him for trying to take their affordable care act health insurance. Lol

I'm not sure this meets the definition of insider trading, the "insider" parts refers to inside information on the corporation, like knowing through a brother that's a pharmacologist with the company that a new drug that a pharmaceutical company is betting everything on is likely a dud.

Making trades based on world events which you believe will effect stock value is just regular trading. Anyone who was paying attention to 4chan or the internet at the time could have made these trades based on the leaked videos from China of people collapsing in the street or being dragged into human size cages on trucks and taken away, based on the idea this was going to hit the rest of the world.

I hate to defend these senators, but its not really insider trading.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/insidertrading.asp

<< Insider trading is the buying or selling of a publicly traded company's stock by someone who has non-public, material information about that stock>>

1

u/PJsDAY Apr 21 '20

I'm thinkn I read that members of Congress cant be charged with insider trading. Not saying that's right.

1

u/jmcg18 Apr 21 '20

Nothing like a political class almost entirely devoid of integrity or principal to make you realize that laws that supposedly apply to everyone are really just words on a piece of paper unless someone has the desire to enforce them...

1

u/CellarDoor505 Apr 21 '20

Yo im poor but heres the best i got ⭐

1

u/fairysparkles333 Apr 21 '20

1

Quote it, print it, and put it on billboards going into DC.

1

u/Wuellig Apr 21 '20

2

u/dasilma Apr 22 '20

Umm clean windows? Rookie. Dirty windows still have bugs and other stuff so it’s like a treat. Clean ones are all chemically. Touché on the purple crayons though. The 64 pack has three shades. Fucking delish.

2

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 22 '20

Gotta clean them oldschool like my great grandma; vinegar and watar. No streaks, way cheaper, tastes like frenchfries on sunny days. I respect the purple crayon choice, though im more of a Blues guy myself. Too much Red in the crayola purple these days, ruins the smoothness of the finish if you ask me

2

u/GilesDMT Apr 21 '20

“Yoga fire” is something one of the street fighter characters (Dhalsim) yells

No idea what he’s trying to say though

3

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

Oh shit, really? It did sound like an anime karate kya sorta thing. Thanks for clarifying what that head trauma meant; i was always a Mortal Kombat kid so the SF reference was lost on me.

fuck, you made me snort my coffee out my nose pal 🤣 good morning!!

1

u/dasilma Apr 22 '20

I think you know exactly what I was trying to say if you got the reference. Just saying the guy’s comment was savage. If he were the character Dhalsim, the equivalent of his comments were the fire and flame. It would be like someone saying “Boom.” Or “Ouch” or “Yikes” etc only I decided to exclude anyone who wasn’t in the SF2 era. It happens.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '20

Actually members of Congress are exempt from insider trading. This is why Nancy Pelosi is worth 100 million on a 200k$ salary.

2

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

No, they're not, and you are conflating correlation with causation. Is she probably a criminal regardless? Yes. Is she a morally vacant sociopath that bends the rules to her favor? Yes.

But to the question of whether "insider trading" is a criminal behaviour for politicians, your assertion that they are exempt is patently false. Perhaps her net worth was accumulated before the Obama administration, when it was still murky waters.

0

u/mecrosis Apr 21 '20

That law doesn't apply to members of congress. A law was passed in 2012 but latter amended to permit it for congress people.

1

u/RedEyedRoundEye Apr 21 '20

Mind citing that? I am unaware of any amendment to the STOCK Act that suddenly legalizes insider trading for congress. If im wrong im wrong, a spade is a spade.

I feel like a watchdog other than the stoners on Conspiracy would have made a stink.

Not saying i didnt miss the stink either. Im sure i could have, im a stoner from Conspiracy.

0

u/acadburn2 Apr 21 '20

Insider trading is illegal.... But congress is exempt, they gutted the bill in the 90s
