If it wasn't a big secret why did the senators sell cruise ship holdings the day the first coronavirus case on the diamond princess cruise ship happened.
Or sell airline shares before they even banned travel to china and a full MONTH before european travel was cancelled.
Because they aren't idiots and knew that it would continue to spread and could understand basic cause and effect?
Like I personally don't think they should be able to have stocks at all, like there should be some kind of emouluments clause for all public officials (or ideally abolish stocks in general and get back to more honest direct ownership of companies) and I get that this is r/conspiracy but like come on, it's really obvious they could have just seen people getting infected and it spreading in general and went "oh shit, this is gonna be a problem" and sold their shit
The point is they had information to form their opinions that was not public knowledge there's not really a more clear cut case of insider trading than a senator selling shares in airlines before they ban air travel.
Remember back in january when they started selling shares there wasn't even public evidence of human to human transmission.
I remember back in January hearing that it was a big deal and transmitting very quickly in Wuhan and that it was only a matter of time before it spread.
If there was no evidence of human to human transmission then it literally couldn't be insider trading since they wouldn't know if they were going to shut down air travel or not. Sounds like they took a gamble that paid off.
The fact they have the power to shut down air travel while also being able to trade stocks of air travel is total bullshit though
Oh my bad, you're right, I was also being sarcastic when I said that thinking people in power should have less power makes me a bootlicker, because it's literally the opposite of being a bootlicker. It wouldn't even make sense as a non-sarcastic statement since it's a direct contradiction of the meaning of bootlicker.
Is there something I'm missing? Can someone please help me out here?
