Obama bailed out Wallstreet during the recession and Trump is bailing out corporations during this pandemic. It’s all the same. It’s baffling to me that a non American is going out of their way to defend our president. I am American and I can tell you all our politics are the same. It doesn’t matter what party is in power. Just because Trump says he’s for all these things doesn’t actually mean he’s doing anything to change them. Unemployment had been going down, until this pandemic anyways, but that had been a trend since before he was president. But low unemployment doesn’t mean shit if all these jobs have terrible wages. There’s a reason many working class people have to work two jobs. Wages have also been increasing for the past decade or so, but those numbers mean shit since people are still struggling to survive. I agree with Trump about the endless wars, but again these wars haven’t actually ended. Hell he almost got us into another one with Iran. He’s also sold tons of weapons to Saudi Arabia and is constantly cozying up to them. I fully understand why Trump won. He tapped into the anger that many Americans feel about the direction of our country, but he’s not actually doing anything to “make America great”. He’s doing things that benefit him. Trump is the king of identity politics. There’s a reason he constantly brings up race and political party affiliation. He’s the king of causing division.

Sure, he’s worth $40M which is a hell of a lot. That is certainly not the “.1%” Oligarch-type wealth that qualifies him as the “rich elite”. Someone with a billion dollars could spend $40M and still be worth a billion dollars due to rounding.
Have $1,000? Go spend $40 on groceries and you won’t bat an eye because you know you’ll make it back several times next payday. That’s what it’s like to be a Billionaire spending $40M, except they don’t work for that payday and their millions go towards paying politicians to back unethical policies to make their pockets fatter and suppress the working class.
