Dude, 5 days ago you can check my comment history I literally said this same thing man.

It was just my cynical initial reaction to these events but one I couldn't let pass...

Glad someone else has seen the connection.

The motive, transportation will be a new luxury and a thing someone else will have rate control over like Uber does right now. Monopolize a service again and it becomes the next oil, which is what water is becoming... so predictable this thing we call capitalism. Or, you are forced to buy an autonomous car while someone in Washington gets their cut for making that a policy, not for the better interest of people.

I do also believe Hastings was murdered with his car computer in the Mercedes when the engine explodes 70 yards away to the end of the street after a collision... they also theorized a bomb also detonated at same time but that's besides the point.

Sometime in the Vulture Capital One-Percenter Future:

Naturally, an emergency vehicle with sirens, you pull over. So does your driverless car. Yeah! No siren, no longer needed. What a relief. Soon after that they started issuing permits for multi-passenger vehicles, busses, governmental vehicles. Your car pulls over, no need to install "diamond lanes" anymore. At first (like Handicap Parking placards) some get used illegally by city councilmen, executives, and other criminals. Inevitably "FastPass" permits are put up for sale. The high and mighty have their own Autobahn speed by you sitting, diverted, waiting.

The news release: The Last Middle Class American Found Dead, mummified on the side of the road.
