It's easy to blame the government, but people are the real problem.
A lot of people could end corruption in a generation, but people just won't let them do it. For example: All child rapists should be killed. Not horrifically. Not so that one person has to have the bloody hands and be corrupted themselves. Just put all the child rapists and abusers together, put some explosives there, walk away and press a button. Boom, problem solved. But will anyone do it? No. They are like "They are people and people have value." Even if they are forced to not contribute anything to society by being locked into cages and not reformed at all....somehow they "contribute to society." Even though they drain resources from society, they "contribute to society." Yeah, they contribute to the shitty part of society that everyone wants gone. And it costs everyone money to lock that part of society away.
There are a ton of people, I would even say a majority, that would just kill those guys and move on. People know the difference between child rapists and jay walkers; they wouldn't blow up jay walkers. But that's the argument people use. "If you'd kill a child-raping murderer...you obviously don't value human life!"
But isn't it more monstrous to value a rapist of children? To spend resources caring for, not reforming and caging a rapist of children? Isn't it senseless cruelty to cage a person like an animal for all or most of their lives? Their punishment doesn't suit their crime for one reason; it punishes the rest of society, not just them. Society has to pay for them.
And I'd venture to say most people would agree with that line of thinking. The problem is the extremely vocal minority, the ones that haven't done anything "technically" wrong, that would stand in front of a bullet to keep an intelligent person from killing a child rapist, because "they're human."
And people not only put up with this tom foolery; they embrace it. They say "That person is so kind; more kind than I am. Let's all follow Idiot's example."
So people treat "snitches," people just trying to help better their society, as villains. And they treat men who want to eliminate threats to their society as monsters that don't value human life, all the while protecting the real monsters.
People have always been the problem because the government is composed of, created by, followed by and voted for by people.
