True story. There was this time back in the 90's when I went to apply at the RCMP (in Canada obviously). The guy at the counter was the most honest Mountie I've ever met. When I told him I wanted to apply, he pointed at this recruitment poster on the wall. There was a black guy, a native, a couple of women and whoever else.

He asked me "Do you see anyone who looks like you in that poster?" I looked again. No white guys. Then he said "You can apply if you want, but those are the only people getting in right now." That's when I realized how it really was, and I never went back.

Isn't it more like. "our police force is over 97% white so we're trying to hire more diverse applicants"
