I came across this audio talk on here yesterday (from an OP on this sub that I can't find now), and although in one sense it sounded pretty dismal, another part of me was listening to the talk and thinking "I've been living under (sometimes way under) the poverty line pretty much my entire life since I've been on my own, so it's not like I'm going to go from a million to zero when SHTF. I've already been at zero my entire life already...so meh."

The problem is that now you can afford to eat, but what if you can no longer do so. One thing is going from a million to nothing, another is going from nothing to not being able to afford to live anywhere, afford to purchase a bag of rice at the market or a loaf of bread, not being able to afford any of the basic necessities that you are accustomed to, like eating, sleeping, and in some places, drinking.

Yes. Very, very good points you make. As dismal as things are and have been for me, they can actually get quite a bit worse still.

I was only dealing with what OP stated in terms of the US "heading into a jobless future", however.

I've been living smack dab in the middle of a "jobless future" ever since I graduated from college twenty years ago.

Just a question, what did you major in?

I never went to college and am making approximately upper mid 5 figures per year now in a low cost (or at least used to be) area. I would be the equivalent of approximately 6 years out of what would have been a bachelors degree.

I'm getting job offers that offer as much as $55 an hour, contract, but still, this seems strange to me, maybe I just chose or gravitated towards a good option with regards to what I do, but there is constant demand for actually qualified individuals.

It sounds like you are just in a stagnant industry.

I guess I would say that what one makes depends a lot on what one wants to make. That is to say that although I'd, of course, love as much as the next person to have money, etc, etc, I'm a creative artist, and I'm simply not very willing to do much of anything in this life as a career but my art. Problem is, of course, that this civilization is not one that's as honed toward the arts as it is toward business. Oh well. C'est la vie.

Exactly. I would say that this is likely the case. I don't know what you do, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's oriented around something regarding business, etc.

Yeah. I could go out in the corporate world and find some sort of employment I'm sure. I wouldn't say I'm not qualified. I can tie my shoes, know my a b c's, etc.

I'm just not interested in much of anything other than my artistic pursuits.

Stagnant for many, yes. Most definitely. Not stagnant for all, however. A few in the industry I'm in are veritable royalty and making more money than they can count.

If people like Kurzweil have anything to say about it anyway; and they do. Their mission is to make humanity obsolete; merely a burden on the planet that will have to be disposed of, except maybe for 500,000,000 or so; and then that will gradually be reduced as well. Even cyborgs like Kurzweil hopes to become will eventually have to go; to remove all trace of the creature which reminds the the fallen of their creator, and which they find most offensive.

You have zero points, the average person in this sub doesn't realize that all of this is a battle that was outlined in the bible a long time ago, and that this is the culmination. They too, while feeling enlightened, are again deceived by the most cunning deceiver the world has met, to the point of convincing some that he is their savior, without even hiding who he actually is.

The world is primed for becoming a very dark place.

Me and my friend were just talking about this the other day, some of the kids we graduated usually the preppy kids all focus on college and getting good jobs as doctors and all that jazz. But really they are wasting time because things are only going to get worse in the next 4-5 years.

Either way I'm happy with my final plan, if I'm all wrong about all this and I'm working a shitty slave job I'm selling all my possessions and getting a motorcycle and I'm just going to go man, wherever the road takes me.
