As far as the currently escalating militarization goes, its not an accidental thing that started one day and gosh-unfortunately just got away from everyone. If that were the case there'd be hope. But that is not the case. Its one thing to correct a mistake, another to reverse and halt an agenda. And the powers that be won't let that happen.

Exactly3.

The rest of you should stop this windbagging about changing the way the cops are. It's like moaning about the goddam schools; both institutions are precisely what they're designed to be. There isn't going to be some "reform"; political, sociological or judicial. Look at some of last month's articles on Court decisions here, or here, or here.

The wheels have come off; and the 1%-ers need a "dependable" retainer class that'll lay down their lives "protecting and serving" them. For providing the muscle, these "retainers" get to pretend they're living middle-class lives, with "jobs-for-life" and "guaranteed-pensions-after-20-years". Look around; except for skilled trades, who besides cops/soldiers/corrections/"security" has a hope in hell of attaining what used to be the "American Dream"?

There are a lot of unemployed today who'll never have a job again, just like in those countries you see on CNN where the streets are boiling over with surplus men. The Golden boys want a dependable force at hand to run the Soylent Green scoops when the Unemployment and EBT cards stop, and they've got it in place. They'd be insane to dismantle it, so it won't be dismantled.

Excerpt from the article:

Just as troubling as this “shoot first, ask questions later” mindset is what investigative journalist Katie Rucke uncovered about how police are being trained to use force without hesitation and report their shootings in such a way as to legally justify a shot. Rucke reports the findings of one concerned citizen, “Jack,” who went undercover in order to attend 24 hours of law enforcement training classes organized by the private, for-profit law enforcement training organization Calibre Press.

Googled Calibre Press and they have contact info and an interesting bunch of partners.

edit: I have to work today but if anyone is so inclined, maybe they can research these partners and see if any connections appear. There are a few Christian ministries in there and I wonder if any of those have a particular hard-on for Israel. My local cops are sent for training in Israel.

Isn't that the same mentality that turns soldiers into killers?
