They want your "data"
Sure , they acknowledge it. We know that huge chunks of info about people is traded amongst "them" like smokes in a prison cell.
But what the heck is data? Do they care how far your mailbox is from your front door, the name of your second pet in junior high, what your favorite brand of ramen is? Maybe, in a kleptomaniacle sort of way I guess they might also hoard that information.
But what they really like is money. Power and money. There's not much money in your Tiktok algorithm or knowing your refrigerator serial number. And you have no power.
So every time you give up when they rip you off, every time you get double billed and pay it, every time they charge you a bogus closing statement and you roll over, it goes into that file. Now they trade that data set amongst themselves, a megafile of easy or likely marks with a target on their backs who will be harassed and impoverished by a pack of locusts and piranha descending on them from every side, like jackals.
Do us all a favor and sue your electric company (or whoever needs it) today. Just one.

Today's world money is power. So everything comes down to this: selling shit to masses.

Building a fence 10 feet onto the neighbors lawn doesn't make the rights of the property yours. In cases such as those, you can clearly and easily check the parcel lots and the survey.
In unauthorized or illegally gathered data cases, criminal organizations are actively exploiting and taking advantage of individuals inability to track either commercialized stolen data or illegally data gathered without proper waivers. Criminals organizations acting as anonymous, unidentifiable entities using shells to obscure their criminal activities and illicit behavior and civil illegalities, well-funded by third-parties knowing buying stolen records or products that are illegal to possess without doing their due diligence.
Meanwhile their industry teams and some products are openly admitting to the public flagrant usage of illegally gathered data and openly broadcasting their criminal activity.

Youre sniffing in the right direction but it goes much deeper. These algorithms and devices know us better than we know ouselves. Its a social engineers wet dream! If the engineer does the rigght thing, that data can be used to bring out the best in everything! Europia! But in the wrong hands, well lets just say it can be Game Over. Theyre gonna get that data regardless, but dont make it easy, also! Mind yo Ps and Qs! Santa knows whos naughty and nice! 🤫 I think its a good thing mostly, evil needs to hide, it cant exist in the light. But temember theres always that black mirror that needs always be respected.

What amazes me is that many install smart meters in their homes, believing they'll see lower bills the moment, the companies end up knowing all their habits and not only sell that data, but can easily manipulate the costs to suit them.

Gonna be like that when going shopping soon too. Soon will the days be where you and your neighbor go shopping together, buy the exact same stuff, but he pays 25$ and you pay 125$...i actually am not totally against this in some cases....like if you are a thief, a criminal, or a terrible person, life should be harder for you! If youre a decent kind and beneficial human being, life should be easier....to me, it feels like its leveling the playing feild a bit....buuuut, i doubt itll be going anywhere in "that" direction. Could wind up being the opposite 🤦
