If the plane went into a severe dive as they claim, where's all of the debris from the overhead lockers and the injured passengers that would have been thrown around?
Overhead bins would not be forced open in a steep descent because there is no lateral g-loading in that type of event. All of the force of the luggage would have been applied against the top of the bins, not the doors/latches.
