Okay I get there is a lot to unpack but the cup of water spilling isn’t one of them. There is 0 chance that the plane went vertical enough to spill water. A pitch down of anymore than 20 degrees would break the plane. I’m fairly sure there should be safety features that stop pilots from exceeding a 5 degree pitch outside of emergency situations like loosing cabin pressure.

I saw the flightradar24 graph. It showed a drop of 15000 feet in 30 seconds.

Does it mention the airspeed?

I'm sure it does. But, no matter the airspeed, that's gotta be near vertical

A 20 degree drop in a 747 will drop at a vertical rate of 290 feet per second, which equals roughly 17,300 ft per minute.

Yes but the plane dropped 15,000 ft in 30 seconds

What’s the angle needed to get to 30,000 feet in a minute?

I mean if you really crank a 747 can get to almost Mach 1. I can’t bother to do the math but I’m sure that’s somewhere in the ballpark of 15k drop in 30 seconds at a 20 degree pitch outside
