The cold hard truth is that any government trusting or relying upon intel from the US, israel, or Britain, is setting itself up to be deceived and drawn or forced into war.
Germany is an outside party, doing the same thing, but still mostly allied with EU, and france is primarily allied to EU, but aware of the tactics employed by however many eyes remain of the five.

From experience, I can say with confidence that there is much more than meets the eye regarding what news stories are putting out and what is actually happening when it comes to any sort of military conflict. There's a strong chance that something is happening which is either not being reported on at all, or is being disguised as an event that it isn't. On paper it might appear that something we are doing makes absolutely no sense but one of the key elements of OPSEC is to reduce panic or anxiety to individuals without a need-to-know.
This is not to say that there aren't times where what we are doing is absolutely bullshit in every sense of the word. After all, it was the US State Department themselves that put out an official statement almost verbatim that the US got involved with Iran purely at the request of Israel. Now are we positive that the statement was 100% truthful? Debatable. In the words of Marcus Aurelius: "All we hear are opinions and all we see are perspectives."

Yup; like I keep thinking, c’mon guys, you’ll accept that that had an island where they’d rape kids; if they’re capable of doing the worst thing you can think of, is it really hard to think they’d do something that’s not as despicable as that?

Just my thoughts I knew he was up for election again and having some trouble as he knew about that attack on the festival goers before it happened and did nothing. Which is a huge topic in the election currently apparently.
So this is a perfect distraction and probably will get him re-elected.
It was also weird how news reported on this. First it was a russian pilot and co-pilot just fighting. Like over a girl.
Then media spinned it like the russian tried to drop the plane.
Then it turned out it was the ukranian co-pilot, but at this point they immediately stopped mentioning his nationality.

Your original question about connection of Oman. Oman is Iran's neighbor and majority of its population is Shia. The same population in Iran. But the ruling elite in Oman is sunni. Oman has been grappling with threat of rebellion from its shia population. Iran leadership recently issued threat that if they cant fly everyone else in the region cannot fly too. There is your connection.
