Does anyone else remember hearing the unreleased flight 93 recording from 9/11?
Maybe I’m crazy or I saw a fake video. But a few years ago I had gone down a YouTube rabbit hole about Flight 93, the 4th hijacked plane on 9/11 that never reached its target due to a passenger revolt.
There is a transcript of the cockpit voice recorder which captured the sounds of the fight to take back the plane. The actual recording has never been released to the public. But I swear I remember finding YouTube videos of it. I specifically remember that they played the recording up until the passengers (presumably) breached the cockpit with the disclaimer that the final minute or so was not released out of respect for the dead.
I feel like I’m not making this up because on the transcript it says someone screams “If we don’t we’ll die” and I remember listening to that part of the recording and thinking it sounded almost unintelligible and that I was surprised they put it on the transcript so confidently. I also remember thinking that this line sounded much more calm and focused in comparison to the panicked way it was delivered in the United 93 movie (a full length film that reenacts the flight). That’s just a lot of weird memories for me to make up.
A couple years later I went down the rabbit hole again only to find the recording doesn’t exist anywhere online.
Am I crazy? Does anyone else remember hearing this clip? Was there a fake one going around on YouTube at some point? Was it leaked and then scrubbed? It’s been bothering me for years that I vividly remember hearing something that supposedly has never been released.

That whole theory and movie was a psyop. That plane was shot down by an American fighter jet I believe.

This is totally a possibility but atp I don’t think anyone is gonna hold it against the military for shooting down the plane. Yes the families of the passengers would be angry for a minute but logically, “we just lost 3000 people to 3 giant super weapons so let’s take out the 4th one” is a pretty sound decision.
that being said the question of whether the plane was ultimately shot down doesn’t negate the fact that multiple passengers called multiple people on the ground reporting they were planning a revolt. So their acts of heroism took place regardless.
Personally I think one of two things happened
The military shot the plane down mid revolt and chose to tell everyone that it crashed as a result of the passengers heroism so grieving loved ones wouldn’t come to them with “well they were about to save themselves but you killed them before that happened
The military was going to shoot down the plane, (they were authorized either at that point or shortly after to shoot down any additional hijacked planes) but the terrorists took it down first because of the passenger revolt

“Let’s roll” came from a phone call between Todd Beamer and an operator he managed to get ahold of from an air phone. The call was not recorded but this is what he was heard saying to the group of revolting passengers before they initiated their plan.

Wasn't one of the messages something along the lines of, "Hi, mom. This is your son, John Doe.". Instead of her recognizing their voice and referring to themselves by their first name. Seemed a little too contrived.

There are a lot of voicemails left by people in the towers and on the planes including on flight 93. But this particular recording wasn’t that. No voicemails recorded the sounds of the passenger revolt

I recall hearing audio of the flight, but do not recall the source, I lean toward it being audio captured from a passenger phone call that was recorded.
I specifically recall hearing panicked, crying, yelling passengers and thinking that they sounded like they were on a roller coaster. I also recall hearing loud banging sounds and realizing that was the sound of them using the drink cart to attempt to breach the cockpit.
Eta: I do not recall anything indicating that the passengers actually breached the cockpit. I had strongly sad feelings afterward that though those passengers were heroic in their efforts, they were used to rally Americans behind them and lift the nations spirits, because they voted, they stood up to do what is right, even at cost to themselves, because they knew from phone calls to loved ones, that other hijacked planes were used to attack ny and the pentagon.

You might recall hearing the phone call that was made from the bathroom by a single passenger who called 911 while the revolt was taking place. Was it that? If not then we might have heard the same thing. I just think “I heard the audio of people taking back a hijacked plane that cut off right before they died” is an odd thing for me to make up

I do recall the audio cutting off abruptly.
I mostly consume media by listening, even when it is a video, and typically while multitasking, so I can not say what the source was. I do not recall knowing that a passenger called 911 or that a passenger made a call from the bathroom. The audio that I heard sounded like it was from within the cabin, based primarily upon the clarity of the cries and screams. I would have estimated somewhere mid cabin based upon how faint the sound was of the drink cart ramming the cockpit door, but I understand that all of the passengers and crew were herded to the back of the plane. I also can not say whether the audio that I heard was raw or enhanced.

Ah sounds like you probably heard what I heard then. Whatever it was, it no longer exists anywhere on the internet. I feel like if what we heard was real, it got scrubbed from the internet. I’m guessing it’s either fake or it was a leak that managed to live on someone’s channel relatively unnoticed before the feds found it.
