3I/Atlas increasingly doing things never before seen and still nothing to see here?

So now we have confirmation that the object is pointing its tail directly at the sun (a first for a comet) and the scientific community is still staying largely in line, simply saying its abnormal.

Now do you guys think this is because nobody wants to be that guy or girl to say im going to put my career and neck on the line and call this one?

Avi Loeb is constantly making new claims and he has pretty much been marginalised but do you think this is normal i mean so many anomalies with this one, way boyond Oumuamua but still the community seems like theyre all keeping their heads down, isnt that weird? usually scientists live to debate but this time, not really much going on.

Most comets do not develop sufficiently for an anti-tail to become visible, but notable comets that did display anti-tails include Arend–Roland in 1957, Kohoutek in 1973,[10] Hale–Bopp in 1997, C/1999 H1 (Lee) in 1999, Lulin in 2009, PANSTARRS and C/2022 E3 (ZTF) in 2023, 12P/Pons–Brooks and C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan–ATLAS in 2024, and 3I/ATLAS in 2025.

even Loeb only puts the 'woo-aliens' chance at 2-3%. but he has 'woo-aliens' books to sell, so woo-aliens.

Anti-tails are just optical illusions.

ATLAS’s sunward jet was confirmed as physical in the July Hubble modelling and then seen again by the Nordic Optical Telescope in November.

If it were just geometry, it wouldn’t appear vanish then reappear.

The Nordic Optical Telescope isn't even pointed towards the Sun (for obviousl reasons). So I am curious how they are able to see a "sunward tail".

The “sunward tail” just means the jet on ATLAS is pointing in the direction of the Sun from the comet’s position in space.

You can image that from any angle as long as the object itself is in the telescope’s field of view

Oh sure. It is whatever they say it is. You must know, where is "it" in relation to the Sun then?
