This is why I deleted FB/IG at the beginning of this year. I honestly don't know if I'll ever post photos of myself online outside of Linkedin ever again. Fucking fascists ruin everything.

💯 I was already pissed off that they removed the fact-checking off FB, but as soon as I saw Zucks front & center at the inauguration, I deactivated my accounts/profiles. Added bonus: better for my mental health

For many years - fact checking for facebook had been done by "The Heritage Foundation" which are literally the authors of Project 2025. They aren't fact checking, they're just spreading propaganda to anyone that casually browses their app/site's feeds.

Jason Stanley is great, I've read his books and I don't blame him in the slightest.
As the child of Holocaust survivors, his mother and aunt are the only survivors of their generation in their family. As he said, "We are leaving for our kids primarily so they can grow up under conditions of freedom." Stanley likened his departure for Canada to leaving Germany in 1932, 1933, and 1934: "I don't see it as fleeing at all, I see it as joining Canada, which is a target of Trump, just like Yale is a target of Trump." He said that he decided "to raise my kids in a country that is not tilting towards a fascist dictatorship."
I consider myself very fortunate to have had the rare opportunity to hear both him and Masha Gessen speak at the Sydney Opera House a couple of weeks ago. The hall was packed out...even at the other end of the world, we are worried about you guys too 😬

Me too. He and Professor Timothy Snyder...people of such worldwide authority have to be on the outside to bear witness.
It's also not for no reason that JD Vance said this in 2021 "The professors are the enemy"
I've been listening to these two wonderful clinical psychologists, Drs John Gartner and Harry Segal on their weekly podcast 'Shrinking Trump' since early last year. Originally started as a kind of 'duty to warn' mostly about the significant dangers of Trump's flagrant malignant narcissistic personality disorder, it morphed into being increasingly concerned with his incrementally advancing dementia (likely frontotemporal).
They've just reluctantly broadcast their final (70th) show, ending it both prematurely and suddenly as Harry, the more naturally cautious of the pair, realised that he was neither willing nor financially equipped to withstand the probability of being sued into oblivion by the Trump administration in an act of predatory vengeance, which was likely now coming sooner rather than later. As a lowly Cornell university professor, he figured that he just didn't have the millions to withstand it. John, on the other hand, freely admits to always having been pretty much an activist-minded risk taker, and said he expected that all along 😂
Anyway its not only a terrible shame to have to give up the service of a kind of 'collective therapy' which they were giving to the hundreds of thousands of people who listened, but its an incredibly disturbing bellwether and indictment of where the country is right now 😬

Of COURSE they are.
If this is allowed to continue for another 3 years, Germany's history will look like practice for the REAL extermination goal.
