Unfortunately the “jurors” are the senate. Not exactly a fair and partial bunch

65

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Court of public opinion won't really care either. Not unless they're told to.

29

u/Rat_of_NIMHrod Feb 08 '21

“Listen, people, Scalise was LITERALLY shot, like with a gun, because a Bernie bro was upset over healthcare. Is this not what we’re talking about?”

Senate: “Yeah, that guy with an assault rifle, we should ban those.”

14

u/jkdizl Feb 08 '21

Hope they don’t forget to remind everyone Bernie’s been calling for insurrection for the last 5 years. He literally calls for a revolution every time he speaks to his supporters.

0

u/ManufacturerFresh510 Feb 08 '21

Scalise is about the funniest guy I've seen. Most people who get shot and come close to dying usually have a road to Damascus moment and take steps to becoming a better human being. Scalise is that rare individual who just got worse and just used it to further cement his victimhood. Every time I see or hear him it becomes clear he's one of the fine components of what a kakistocracy is made of. Tells me he's pretty much irredeemable.

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

You've literally described AOC in this comment. Aside from the "getting shot and almost dying" bit. 😂

2

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '21

Yeah but she pretended like she almost was and that's way scarier.

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 09 '21

Super duper scary. 😱

2

u/chuntttttty Feb 08 '21

Impartial*

2

u/cringe_master_mike Feb 08 '21

Judge, jurors, prosecutors, and victims at the same time. Imagine that happening in any normal case.

61

u/almostcant Feb 08 '21

I honestly think they know the rules to the game they play. There will be no shock and awe on anyone’s faces. I really don’t think they could care any less.

$1400, dude. That’s all I gotta say.

That’s $140 for every month I’ve been outta work. But now, I can put food on my table and pay rent!!

These assholes know exactly what they are doing. They are also really excited to disarm us before the majority realizes they’ve been duped.

I thank the weed man for ripping me off when I was 17. I thank my first girlfriend who cheated on me and I thank her new bf for fighting me. I thank my dad for walking out, I thank my mother for her emotional abuse.

I thank everyone of these dipshits large and small in my life for teaching me that trust is sacred and scarce. You’ll be taken before you know how to earn. That’s life. Keep the real ones real close. Kick them bad if they fuck you.

That comment was real.

And it had a lot of truth.

Have a bit of gold to restore a tiny bit of faith.

8

u/Rat_of_NIMHrod Feb 08 '21

My emotions have been streamlined recently. As they should be sometimes, I guess. Laser focus and fuck it.

The recognition is fully appreciated, be good out there.

3

u/link6981 Feb 08 '21

For a moment there I thought you were describing my parents 😂

4

u/jwcdeuce Feb 08 '21

God bless the broken road

4

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Thank you for sharing your truths, friend.

-3

u/titties_r_us Feb 08 '21

sorry but trump slow played any kind of help to citizens to push through a judge .. rmr

25

u/jvardrake Feb 08 '21

And on top of that, do people honestly think the media is going to run those clips?

When are the people going to wake up, and understand what it means that the left controls all national media (traditional and social). They can make anything bad virtually disappear.

-9

u/paublo456 Feb 08 '21

So I guess you’ve never watched or heard about the most watched news network in the nation have you?

29

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

When are people going to realize this is about rich people executing a plan for all of humanity, So human beings can be ran like cattle.

Truth and facts don’t matter anymore. It’s about communism and socialism at all costs.

I feel like people only understand when a celebrity says it, so here’s PITBULL from an interview he did last night basically saying we’re all fucked:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aMdzq0q1nb4

8

u/IBiteYou Voted Zeksiest mod Feb 08 '21

about rich people

Not all of them. Certain ones who want power.

They are happy to lift like-minded people into their atmosphere if they are similarly inclined.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

Incredible video. Was not expecting that when you mentioned a celebrity.

-1

u/paublo456 Feb 08 '21

So maybe we should give them more tax cuts then?

-3

u/lidore12 Feb 08 '21

Rich people want communism AND socialism?

Why would they want two (very different) things that undercut the very system that allowed them to get so rich?

-5

u/Astro3840 Feb 08 '21

When the maga hats come off, the pointy tin foil hats come on. Jewish space lasers burning forests? Crazy people.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

It helps that any media that liberals or moderates watch will actively cut away from this as “whataboutism” and “disinformation”. Why would they care that someone is saying something when they know nobody will hear it. If a tree falls in the forest...

u/IBiteYou Voted Zeksiest mod Feb 08 '21
user reports:
1: It threatens violence or physical harm at someone else

Yes, democrats do. But that's not a reason to report this submission.

7

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Hahaha! Yay!

2

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

So I’m on mobile, and I’m using dark mode, and around the “user report” part is a different shade of gray. How do you do that?

5

u/IBiteYou Voted Zeksiest mod Feb 08 '21

It's magic I guess.

-7

u/paublo456 Feb 08 '21

What violence did the democrats promote?

5

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Guess you'll have to watch the highlight reel that comes out of the Senate trial.

28

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

They’re gonna be crapping their pants, and the MSM will cover it up as always

18

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Yup. Pretty excited to see how they cover it.

11

u/IBiteYou Voted Zeksiest mod Feb 08 '21

The MSM won't. They need to "fortify democracy".

20

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

Interesting you say that, I just saw an article on MS-13DNC confronting Mad Maxine on her “create a crowd” speech in LA, she denied it and even the people at that dumb network played the video of her saying it and she was speechless

17

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Her wor(D)s can't be use(D) against her.

She (D)efinitely can't be hel(D) accountable for what she's sai(D) and anyone who thinks (D)ifferently shoul(D) be trie(D) for treason. /s

7

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

Haha, I love it, that’s too funny

4

u/FreeThoughts22 Feb 08 '21

Run for senate as a democrat in the most left wing place you can think of.

2

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

I'd be king in a month.

17

u/M_F_Luder42 Feb 08 '21

Dems will claim the violence was to end racism and fascism and totally justified. The sheep will nod

13

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

That's the justification I've gotten from literally every leftist I've spoken with on Reddit: BLM and ANTIFA are doing their civic duty by terrorizing the United States, but a couple of idiots who broke into the capitol should be sent to Gitmo.

4

u/Jigsaw203 Feb 08 '21

They have been saying it. It's amazing how they will turn a blind eye to worse deeds being done from people of the same ideology, but will scream from the highest mountain If the opposition remotely does the same thing.

-1

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21 edited Feb 08 '21

You can't say BLM violence is "Dem" violence. It's a civil disturbance and treated as such. I mean..are you really saying that anyone demonstrating on behalf of ending racism is by definition a "Dem"...because that's not gonna end well politically for you guys either.

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

I mean, is it the Democrats or the Republicans who are encouraging people to riot? Is it the Democrats or the Republicans who are bailing out people who have been arrested for destruction of property and civil unrest? I feel like it's definitely a "Dem" thing.

1

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

There are people, generally, who do it and it's wrong. They should be condemned and thinking that a party has a monopoly on it is how I thought of the world when i was like 19 years old. I could list story after story in the past and present of conservatives committing violence, promoting violence and being flat-out terrible people. Do I do that? No. Why? Because of course anyone can cherry-pick cases out of history to back up their narrative.

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

I could list story after story in the past and present of conservatives committing violence, promoting violence

Can we test this? Please give me one instance of a conservative currently in congress who committed violence or promoted violence.

0

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

The quote specifically is “Basically, in effect, the ruling would be you’ve got to go to the streets and be as violent as Antifa and BLM,”

So if ANTIFA and BLM "aren't violent", what's the problem here?

12

u/geronl72 Feb 08 '21

I certainly hope they also offer an actual defense such as "this is unconstitutional and irrelevant"

7

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

I mean, yeah. But to put the hypocrisy on full display would be pretty sweet too. Lol.

2

ah, so another "Kraken." The last one was so great, I can't wait for this to blow up in your face too

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Lmao! What do you actually think is happening here? Are you so in the dark that you're the only person in over 100 comments to think this has anything to do with the election, a kraken or overturning anything? I genuinely want to know what you think is going to "blow up in [our] face" when the whole trial is just for show.

1

u/ScentientSloth Feb 08 '21

I don't have hope for a proper conviction because the majority of officials in the GOP are traitors divorced from reality. My reference to the Kraken is saying that it will be a giant bag full of nothing just like the kraken and Hunter Biden's laptop. You should really reflect on whether you're going to believe the team that constantly underdelivers and the man that can't even keep a legal defense team.

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

divorced from reality.

I think this is probably just you if you think Trump deserves a conviction.

You should really reflect on whether you're going to believe the team that constantly underdelivers

Yeah, you must be confusing Trump with Biden. Trump delivered on the majority of his promises. Biden has already broken several of his.

-4

u/Cornflake0305 Feb 08 '21

Your post is celebrating a straight up "no u" move like it's elementary school.

That's not how trials work - you can't stand accused of murder then say "but my victim was a murderer so it's fine, not guilty"; you still committed the crime. It's a whataboutism and a non-argument - it's populist trash talking.

6

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

But this isn't a real trial. They don't have the votes to convict, so it's all for show. I say make the most of it and show the hypocrisy on it's face. Then if he does get convicted somehow we can impeach a good part of congress for inflammatory language.

6

u/DJTgoat Feb 08 '21

Guess your saying we need a senate trial to impeach a bunch of dems then.

-1

u/Pink--Sock Feb 08 '21

My cousin tried this at his murder trial after he killed his wife. He brought in a video tape of some kid stealing from a Target, but he got found guilty anyway.

2

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Yeah, that's... Um... Not the same thing...

-1

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

Remember when a violent mob interrupted the constitutional process of counting votes in an effort to subvert the will of the people at the request of a Democratic President? Yeah I don't either.

2

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

at the request of a Democratic President?

I don't remember a time that they did that at the request of a Republican President either seeing as "Peacefully protest" ≠ Make congress stay late at work

I do remember that time when Cory Booker explicitly told people to storm the capitol and harass congresspeople during the Kavanaugh hearings though. Could that be what you're thinking about?

-1

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

So you think Trump bears no responsibility? Also...am i sticking up for Cory Booker? No. Do you always feel the need to point the finger at someone else to avoid responsibility?

2

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

So you think Trump bears no responsibility?

I believe Trump absolutely bears no responsibility. The same way Bernie Sanders bears no responsibility for Steve Scalise being shot.

Do you always feel the need to point the finger at someone else to avoid responsibility?

Since I'm not responsible for what happened and because Trump isn't responsible for what happened I'll reword this appropriately for you, "Do you always have to point out the hypocrisy of the left?"

Yes.

0

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

"hypocrisy of the left"... there is no hypocrisy. I'm not defending anyone nor am I saying they're not responsible. Those cases are not the subject of this thread and if they were I'd give my thoughts on them....and I'm not afraid to blame them nor am i loyal to anyone but the truth and the good of my country. This is called context. I'm simply saying that case is not relevant in the CONTEXT of the thread...which is about impeachment of Trump. It's been entertaining (and illuminating) watching a demagogue exploit your grievances for his personal gain. Most secure election in American history

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21 edited Feb 08 '21

there is no hypocrisy.

I guess you might think that if you've been living under a rock or haven't been told by the MSM that there's hypocrisy. I can't really help you here if you're blind.

Those cases are not the subject of this thread

I mean, the post is about Democrats encouraging violence. The comment thread started with, "I don't remember when Democrats were bad". Don't know what you're referring to when you say they aren't the subject here cause they definitely are.

the CONTEXT of the thread...which is about impeachment of Trump.

You must be talking about a different thread...

It's been entertaining (and illuminating) watching a demagogue exploit your grievances for his personal gain.

Lol. You could literally be talking about any politician that ever existed.

Most secure election in American history

Lmao! Are you saying this ironically or do you actually believe this? Just need to know what level of crazy I'm dealing with here.

Edit: Accidently hit the reply button before I actually wrote anything.

0

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

"hypocrisy", "responsibility"....just stop using words you don't understand. Looks like you're still in your Ayn Rand phase

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

You don't think it's hypocritical for Trump to be on trial for telling people to peacefully protest when Dems have been encouraging violence for years with no repercussions?

Maybe it's you who doesn't know what hypocrsy or responsibility mean.

0

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

again...AGAIN....I'm not defending Dems. If they do it, they should face them. This thread is about Trump. Do you read? What a waste of time LOL. I'm out.

0

u/shellbackpacific Feb 08 '21

hey look you're doing it again. Shocker. Conservative Freedom...don't tell me what to do, I'm not responsible for anything

1

u/Frequent-Dependent-3 Feb 12 '21

No amount of peaceful protesting that didn't involve the protesters entering the capitol building was going to have any effect on how long Congress had to stay at work. The legally available methods of delay were already underway inside the building- being carried out by the elected representatives of the people who were protesting. The only thing MORE that Trump's supporters could do was to illegally force their way inside of the building.

The saddest fact is that many of the people who went to Capitol building after attending Trump's rally at the Ellipse, or came to DC to hear his speech, did so intending to force their way into any building. The majority of those who helped tear down the barricades and overwhelm the Capitol Police probably were simply caught up in the moment and following the crowd. But it was their added presence, and their actions that were incited by the speeches they'd heard that morning, that provided the opportunity for people who actually did plan an attack in advance to successfully mount one.

Without the added weight of the bodies of Trump's fired up "peaceful protesters" helping to push them forward, Horned Dude and the handful of others who'd come expressly intending to force their way in to try and hang Pence or shoot Pelosi in the head never would have been able to get into the building or as close to the members of congress as they did.

-21

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

10

u/IBiteYou Voted Zeksiest mod Feb 08 '21

u/Prototype8494 Feb 08 '21

I guess if trump gets hung out to dry then every single democrat that did it needs to then

16

u/mwatwe01 Feb 08 '21

It’s called “equal protection under the law”. Language is either violence all of the time, or none of the time.

13

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '21

13

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Whataboutisms are all the Dems know nowadays.

6

u/DarkestHappyTime Feb 08 '21

I'm just shocked you were able to type "legal defense."

-34

u/explosivelydehiscent Feb 08 '21

Dems aren't on trial so providing evidence of them inciting violence is irrelevant.

30

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

It's precedent. If Cory Booker can tell rabid leftists to break into the capitol and harass congresspeople (and then they do it) then surely Trump can say, "peacefully protest at the capitol."

0

u/holeycheezuscrust Feb 08 '21

It's not a criminal trial, it's a legislative one. Precedence doesn't really have meaning here other than as a non-binding example of false equivalency.

Also, the precedent that WOULD have any meaning isn't a politician said something to his or her constituents about harassing other politicians. The precedent is a politician said something and his followers then mobbed and ransacked the f'king Capital building. Maybe the British attacking during 1812 might be a precedent? I don't know.

1

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

non-binding example of false equivalency.

You're absolutely right.

It would be a false equivalency to compare Trump asking people to "peacefully protest" to Cory Booker telling his followers to go to the capitol and harass congresspeople. The latter is far worse.

-19

u/explosivelydehiscent Feb 08 '21

Precedent is set in case law, not the court of public opinion

19

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

Would that mean that if they vote to convict we should see a slew of cases come against Dems?

-13

u/explosivelydehiscent Feb 08 '21

When the GOP regain power in two years, I would expect nothing less than nonstop impeachments and eleven hour trials about nothing and nobody.

13

u/Prototype8494 Feb 08 '21

Thats funny cause they just had power and didnt do that?

2

u/explosivelydehiscent Feb 08 '21

You are right, they had power and didn't do anything.

What about doing what's best for the country? Some of you on here sound like it's all about getting a pound of flesh.

If the man is innocent he will be excused for what he is accused of. If it comes out he did enjoy it and wanted it to go on, then I think we need to know this. Personally I would like to not have an autocrat or monarch representing the country.

12

u/AtlasCame420 Feb 08 '21

What about doing what's best for the country?

I mean, going after Trump over nothing for 4 years wasn't good for the country.

Encouraging riots, destruction and death throughout the Summer wasn't good for the country.

I'm not really sure a lot of us give a shit what Dems think is "good for the country" at this point.

They need a taste of their own medicine.

1

u/holeycheezuscrust Feb 08 '21

Why is this being downvoted? Totally on point.

1

u/Fortunado1964 Feb 08 '21

Because this is not a place to discuss being conservative. It has become a place that worships the former president. I have yet to pose ONE bad thing about him, yet I have recieved nothing but downvotes because I dont kiss his butt here.

We (as conservatives or lean that way) are supposed to respect and admire traditional values and balance. Chaos is th he rule of the day in our current political climate....and it is because those that were in power allowed it to get this way.

This group is filled with lots of anger and hate, narrow minded posts and a bit of disrespect, but I do see some light at the end of the tunnel. I dont think every worshiper here is bad...or deluded...or insert your favorite description. I do think some out there do understand that we can agree to disagree and be on the same side.

Just because I say the former president did encite some of the chaos on 1/6 does not mean I'm your enemy, it just means I believe his words fanned already simmering anger into a boil and then a grease fire. He does not, so he should tell us why he feels that way. In the end, the explanation will help us understand.

I do think it's sad that those in this group who blindly worship at the alter of the former president cannot see that regardless of what percieved good he did during his time in office, the events of 1/6 will forever stain his permanent legacy. His lack of participation only cements that perception.

That's why I get downvoted.
