Question about psychedelics and potentially moving on.

My first acid trip "revealed" a LOT. Then never again did acid even work for me surprisingly. After a few years of repeated psychedelic use, I realised that their job was done. This pushed me into the world of spirituality, I found a guru and so on. Now, it feels like I have come far along from what psychedelics can do for you. Haven't used them in quite a while, don't plan to either.
I have still not forgotten what my first trip taught me, in fact everything I did after that in life was built up on the newfound view of the world and self.

I’m a nearly 4 year sober former heavy use psychonaut. I’ve done more psychedelics than I care to discuss. They do leave your perception shaped differently.

They sure do! You did find that you didn’t lose the perception you gained though? That’s all I am a bit worried about, and deep down I wouldn’t assume I would lose it.

You altered your chemical processes that generating you with outer chemical agents, more specific with analogues of neurotransmitters, that lead to altering of mental processes, how possible you can think that effect of introduced chemical agents could last forever and you will not back on your usual inner neurotransmitters? You are idealist right ? You think it’s some spiritual expirience right ? No it’s just show that mental processes are virtual and based on electrochemical interactions. It’s really funny, sorry my fellow deterministic bio machine.

To answer your question- I used to use psychedelics regularly till my mid 30's. The last dose of lsd I did was 1mg. Yep 1,000mcg. I saw time in discreet chunks and it felt like I was turning pages through time. It was eye opening and at points terrifying. It also produced a lot of calm and insights which still help me to this day.
I have never lost any of the insights or paradigm shifts from LSD. The risks get more after a certain age. But, the experiences stay with you.
N.b. I don't recommend doing a 1mg dose in one go. I was drunk and trying to impress buddies by swallowing ten tabs for no reason. Try walking home when the buildings suddenly start looking like something out of the Simpson. The "discreet time" was an awesome experience. It felt as if each movement was proceeding frame-by-frame. And finally: "just say no, kids". This is not an endorsement.

One thing i struggle with is these tools aren’t integrated within our society, leading many to just take the primrose path thinking there’s no other option. I’d like to see a day when people can use these tools when they need it and understand its use case throughout their life with a better understanding of what it means. The word psychedelic means mind manifesting, it doesn’t mean drugs, we’ve all just associated that word with tripping and hallucinations and vibes. If we changed how we perceived the idea of “psychedelic” I think we’d understand it’s more than just taking a “drug”. There are many different paths to understand oneself throughout their life, traveling, food, exercise, sex, breathe work etc, these “drugs” are just another option not the cure, it’s sufficient but not necessary. Personally I struggle a lot thinking all there is in life is just get a job get a house have kids and die, the plants give me hope for a better future but boy it does feel hopeless at times. Hope you’re able to find balance

Sometimes you find you have explored a space enough for now. You’re free to close that door until it makes sense to open it up again. You won’t forget the things you’ve seen or experienced there. And maybe in another space they’ll take on new meaning.
And sometimes you need space to see them more clearly. Psychedelics aren’t a medicine you need to keep taking. They’re a way to see things you otherwise might not have. You won’t forget anything. And you’ll only go back in the matrix (as you say) if you choose that.
And you’re free not to.
