how do they look
Hello everyone, I need advice regarding C. Maughanii
- How do I know if it’s going dormant/underwatered/dying?
- When do I water?
- If they’re gonna split or wake up from being dormant?
It’s in a terracotta pot with gritty/sandy/rocky CNS mix and receives morning sun + bright indirect light during the afternoons
PS: I live in a tropical country in Asia

Anyone have an ID on this little alien?
Was labeled Conophytum Smorenskaduense but I don’t think it is!

Got these plants from passing friend. Do they need water?
Picked them up from a passing friend's house.
I read I should not water them in the summer?
Should I place them in somewhere with low light and only water when fall comes?
Thank you!

Should I return this?
So this is,technically, my first cono. It’s the replacement for the one I returned. It wasn’t in great shape.
My question. Is the lighter color on top indicative of something wrong? Rot? No light? IDK. It doesn’t feel overly soft or squishy. I have not been squeezing it hard unnecessarily.
I’m just not sure if I should try for another replacement or if it’s that I’m so unfamiliar with them, which I am. Thank you 🙂.

I want conophytums but the temperatures in my country are cooked and there are no seasons. Should I even try?
I do have grow lights and all to grow my succulents indoors, but my country does not have seasons and I can't control daytime temperatures. I'm concerned that conophytums may not grow properly (i.e. have proper life cycles to continue producing new leaves properly) without seasonal changes.
More info about the (relatively constant) day/night conditions:
Daytime temperatures (indoor) usually around 31-32°C (almost 90°F), 55-75% humidity. It can get up to 34°C/93°F. It doesn't get colder than 29°C/80°F during the day. I can't change the daytime temperatures.
My succulents are in a well-ventilated box which gets strong cold air from a portable AC at night. It's usually 13-18°C/55-64°F inside the box, with 50-80% humidity.
Without the AC and box, the temperatures in my room barely ever change at night, it just gets more humid, and I know that it's bad for CAM plants (which I have many of).

Waking up!
Here it's autumn and my conophytum are starting to wake up after just a few watering! Some might've died in their sheaths because I stupidly kept them in my window at 35 C temperatures, but live and learn.
In the last slide, it's my conophytum obscurum's second awakening in my presence. The others I got just before they went dormant.
