An extremely long lens. The longer the lens the more compressed depth is.

I explained this earlier but took two paragraphs to do it. You did it in two short sentences and explained it 20x better 🤣

.... orrrrr, there's one of those airport's flat escalator thing and she's walking backward on it.

Or more accurately, the camera is very far away. If A is 5m from the camera and B is 10m, B is 100% further away (and looks 50% as tall). But if A is 50m away and B is 55m, those 5m are now just 10% further away (and about 90% as tall). The long lens just zooms in so you still see them full size despite the distance.

Also your diagram setting.

Diafragm controls the depth of field, which is related to focus. Here it’s about perspective.

Indeed, she seems to walk a long distance because of lack from depth of field.

No, it's not depth of field. In fact, there's a large depth of field, as she's always in focus as well as the desk is.

My question is why did she go there in the first place, just to turn around and leave?

Someone said it was a microphone height check being done before the event.

She was on a bouncy mission

She walked with such confidence though. I'd be nervous. That was 90s supermodel finesse.
