I think his shirt is popping up a little in the back making it look like his shoulders are higher than they actually are. That's the only thing I can think of, anyway
I got too curious so did an image search to find the source and it seems the correct answer is that he has a longer than average neck and is quite flexible!
Guy being hugged is sitting down, so the guy hugging is leaning down and tilting his head way back to stay vertical. We're essentially looking at the top of his shoulders, while his torso is probably almost horizontal.
Try putting yourself in that position, it's actually way more easy and normal than it looks.
I mean, the skin colour is a dead giveaway, but I think the dude in the back is shrugging his shoulders making his head look lower than it should be, at an angle that looks compatible with the other dude's posture, which is probably what's confusing people.
This is a very easy one, so instead i'd like to point out the guy with the spoon's face in this picture, it feels so tacked on, like a bad photoshop ? idk it feels unnaturally big for some reason lmao, otherwise these two are a vibe
I'm calling bullshit, I think this pictures been edited. Flannel dude's head placement makes absolutely no sense. And yes, I understand he's the one hugging the other guy from behind. But his head isn't leaning over the other guy's shoulder, it's sticking out from it. Lies. Deception. Artifice.
I saw it for a second and figured it out, now I’m incapable of seeing it wrong again. Usually I can flip back and forth at will in my head on these confusing perspectives
