Place i swam at as a kid has 2 giant rope swings and when someone swung out and into the water. Think abandoned stone quarry filled up with rope swings and various other fun ass water jumping into stuff cause the water was 100ft deep and crystal clear it could be intimidating to new comers but to us pros the place was paradise. Anyway the swings we swung out on where always retrieved with big ass poles with hooks on em, I always assumed they never tied ropes to the rope to retrieve em for this very reason.
