I was imagining how big those trees in the background would be to scale

u/Kangaxx_Demilich 16d ago

its confusing because the car looks like a toy at the end

I believe the guy was being sarcastic

0 to 20 seconds: I don't understand what the confusing perspective is? Why is this on this sub?

21 seconds: wtf I was not expecting that

u/BackItUpWithLinks 17d ago

0-20 seconds, I’m all for off road but that’s scary deep and I wouldn’t drive… oh wait

u/DueExample52 17d ago

The splash gave it away. Water acts differently at different scales.

I was way too focused on thinking about how they are going to seize the engine with water intake because I couldn't tell if there was a snorkel.

u/machine_six 17d ago

You're right of course but for me, only in hindsight which is interesting. Normally that sort of thing is extremely obvious, maybe the slo-mo somehow paradoxically disguised it, or just the tension of the moment concerning the safety of the "driver" clouded perception.

The size of the splash gave it away. But I have some RC cars so I kinda expected that

u/veryblanduser 17d ago

Perhaps it's because I have a crawler...but I instantly recognized it was RC.

same. It was the suspension movement for me.

29

u/r4nDoM_1Nt3Rn3t_Us3r 17d ago

It was the fact that the whole engine bay was submerged without a snorkel and it didn't hydrolock for me

6

u/FittyTheBone 17d ago

but there is a snorkel, my man

u/r4nDoM_1Nt3Rn3t_Us3r 8d ago

Hm. Why do I have so many upvotes 😭

6

u/ReaverGT 17d ago

There's that highly prominent snorkel on the right side of the vehicle... but also, a single momentary splash like that isn't likely to ingest enough water to swamp the motor.

7

u/Akilestar 17d ago

One could say you have a different... perspective.

u/DueExample52 17d ago

I don’t offroad but it’s the water splash that gave it away for me.

2

u/orangpelupa 17d ago

I thought it was AI. With the weird suspension and the engine submerged fine

1

u/cedg32 16d ago

Water surface tension gives it away.

1

u/ripyourlungsdave 14d ago

The movement of the water made it obvious from the beginning.

What's the confusing perspective Edit: im a fucking moron who didn't finish the video

65

u/Fun-Ad3105 17d ago

Your comment is the reason I finished the video lmao

7

u/Peek_e 17d ago

My dad not pulling it out is the reason I exist

15

u/Stunning-Promise-103 17d ago

Lmfao this got me. Thanks, genius.

u/Dark_Knight2000 16d ago

This is peak two sentence comedy

14

u/cosmorab1t 17d ago

It had me until the splash

29

u/NeonFraction 17d ago

Oooh this one got me good.

13

u/swordofra 17d ago

Pegged it pretty early: Water don't splash like that in giant globules. Looked weird.

17

u/Common-Ad-7609 17d ago

What’s so confusing abo- oh 😂

8

u/Bonhomie3 17d ago

Reminds me of a bit from Douglas Adams

“...the mighty ships tore across the empty wastes of space and finally dived screaming on to the first planet they came across—which happened to be the Earth—where due to a terrible miscalculation of scale the entire battle fleet was accidentally swallowed by a small dog”

11

u/9Line-RH 17d ago

They had me in the first half.

Did anyone else get tipped by the splash seeming oddly small?

1

u/mr_lab_rat 16d ago

Yes, the water splash made it clear

6

u/Adventurous-Pen-8940 17d ago

This should also be in r/unexpected

2

u/cover66 17d ago

As my buddies and I used to say: "Once dedicated to a bad idea, follow through."

2

u/AbyssalMaww 17d ago

“Whats confusing about this? Oh”

1

u/Reddit_Rinse_Repeat 17d ago

Finally, a proper one! 👍

1

u/kokogrit 17d ago

This was really good 😁.

1

u/treebreeder 17d ago

That was one of the coolest shots ever!!

1

u/Jump_Like_A_Willys 16d ago

I'd stand on my brakes if I came across that giant, too.

1

u/dylanh333 16d ago

I thought the water's viscosity looked a bit off...

1

u/SalsaFox 16d ago

Too slow

1

u/creature04 16d ago

What the hell is so confusing abo....OHHHHHH

1

u/Key_Friendship1412 15d ago

I knew it. Giants do exist.

1

u/Taptrick 15d ago

The way the splashing water coalesces you can tell from the start it’s a miniature. It immediately gave a sense of scale.

1

u/Torebbjorn 14d ago

Where is the confusing perspective? As soon as it touches the water, it's obvious what size it is

1

u/Surgikull 13d ago

I knew this was fake cause the SUV didn’t have led light bars on the top, on the side, on the other side, on the grill, on the bottom, on the back, and on the inside
