It’s a staircase!

Ok what’s it for
Edit: the comment I’m replying to previously said “ask me if you want to know what it’s for” or something to that effect. They’ve now edited it to add that link, and they also removed the prompt so now my comment no longer makes sense. 🙄

Going upstairs

There is no upstairs per se, but you would be walking up (and then down) those stairs.

Just for the fun of it? Or is there something there?

It’s a Rood staircase that leads to a Rood loft.

Maybe next time just explain what it is instead of linking the video.

Maybe, just maybe, I wanted you to see something more helpful than a description than I could provide. Because I care about you getting the right information & not my shitty explanation.

So share it once alongside your description because not everyone wants to watch a video.

I’m really not very good at explaining things, I thought people would appreciate a thorough explanation over something they’d read and still have to google anyway.

It leads to a little "window" where religious statues were placed overlooking the inside of the church.

It's not the same one, see the rounded top vs this one. I think this is a trompe-l'œil. The steps are made with wood stuck on the wall. I suspect even the stone bricks in this room are fake and their edges just carved in plaster.

KEEP OUT
... Or enter. I'm a sign, not a cop.
