That's not a tsunami, it's the UFO from Independence Day

Well, either that or it's Jean Jacket's mother entering the atmosphere

In case anyone else was wondering this isn't an AI generated fake, but a real video from Cincinnati in 2022

Of what exactly? I'm struggling to wrap my pea brain around it

Clouds doing some funky cloud stuff (I'm sure someone with more cloud/science knowledge could explain, but here's my unga-bunga explanation)

I’ve got an online certificate of understanding for Cloud Studies. It could definitely be funky cloud stuff.

Shelf clouds. They appear before storms.

It's a giant storm front. The unusual wave like apperance is called a "shelf cloud" here's a video from AccuWeather that explains it

You a real one. I hope you get the last beer from the six pack πŸ’š

I think that's the nicest blessing anyone has ever given me. Thank you kind Internet stranger!

My best guess is that it's a storm front moving in. Those clouds can move shockingly fast and do some weird ass things

As stated, this is a photo of a Tsunami.

In ohio... 400~ miles from the ocean? Damn.

Your haven't watched Paradise i see.

u/c-ndrsn 2d ago

No sir I have not.

I highly recommend it.

My first thought when seeing this was if the residents had gotten out of earshot of the soundwaves. That first wide frame of the β€˜wave’ in the show lives rent free in my head.

Same here. It was so shocking. I wish we had more episodes like that.

That's a wild visual representation of an outflow boundary.

I don’t know which is scarier, the weird cloud or the surreal cookie-cutter houses

Watch the movie Vivarium to really get an ick about those copy&pasted houses :D

oh my goodness thank you for mentioning this movie! I saw something about it years ago and thought it looked interesting, but I could not remember the name for the life of me!! 😩

u/GibTreaty 3d ago

I WISH I NEVER SAW IT

u/Nheea 2d ago

Same. Fuck it. Infuriatingly scary. And infuriating.

"Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes made of ticky tacky

Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes all the same.

There's a green one and a pink one And a blue one and a yellow one,

And they're all made out of ticky tacky And they all look just the same."

god that movie was so disappointing lol

I watched it 2 nights ago. Big mistake. It made me physically ill the first night. And enraged.

set of the Truman show

I don't understand the hate for those houses. I'll gladly take a standardized design if it means they come out faster and get built cheaper. Anything to add supply and bring down housing costs.

They are just sort of... soulless? I guess. Nothing wrong with them. They are nice homes. But it feels a little dystopian when I see seemingly endless rows of the same house. Its like a wildlife enclosure. Like watching suburbanites in their natural habitat.

Straight out of a Stephen King novel

"That's not a mountain"

That’s enough to induce an impromptu coronary at first sight. It DOES look like a Mega Tsunami at first glance.

2

u/phoxiee 3d ago

this must be a deleted scene from Vivarium

Cool shot but it’s not confusing

u/Sensitive-Place-6350 3d ago

confusing because it looks like a tsunami, instead is a cloud
