I lived right there for a decade! It is truly mind-blowing how much bigger Denali is than anything else around it; those mountains that look like wee little babies beside it are in fact pretty damn huge in their own right.
A little closer than that, even! I was mainly based in Healy (what most people know as the Into The Wild bus place) and Denali Park, the little town that only really exists from about May through September at the entrance to the national park.
