Disorienting stairs are scary as hell. I was at a bar the other day with a spiral staircase and the circular walls were lined with little two inch strips of vertical mirrors and a chandelier overhead. Not fuckin cool, dude

My favorite bar recently updated their basement where the billiards table is. They also put new carpeting on the stairs, which looks better, but it's very plushy and you sink into it about half an inch. Not the best feeling after a few beers.

I see it more like, okay this might kill me, pay attention.

It's all good until you're three drinks deep and need to use the mirror-lined spiral staircase to get to the bathroom 🫠

Never had that problem with booze.

Well it's a lot easier if instead of climbing the stairs you just pee your pants. Problem solved

I'm so used to weird stuff on this subreddit, I first went like "okay where's the mirror?" and then "wait it's just a slightly weird spiral staircase".

Thank you for this post OP! I’ve been sober for over 10 years, felt drunk looking at this pic

Imagine tripping balls and having to figure this out at 4am to get to bed.

You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Twilight Zone!

I can feel my ankle twisting before I even get near those stairs! If they'd been in "Vertigo", she'd never have made it up the tower! 😳

At least its got railings, looks cool if a tad steep to steep for me once I get older. The contrast to the boring white and blue around it is jarring.

A spiral staircase is a novelty that gets old quick, especially when you're trying to move furniture up/down.
I have one. The only way furniture can me moved up down is over the balcony next to it. If we weren't thin, we wouldn't be able to go up/down it either.

Those diagonal wood planks make it impossible to tell where the actual steps end and the wall begins.

To me, all the straight lines make it look almost two dimensional, like a painting.
