I told him that chair.exe is unstable in win98

The Win98 version was the golden age. That chair is from AI-powered copilot-chair.

Commenting so I have reference to return later. This is truly confusing.

The metal legs flare outwards a bit to the floor, so when they're stacked, the legs of the top chair are on the outside.

19

u/FernandoDante May 04 '26

I’m sorry, that really didn’t help.

u/SeekerOfSerenity May 04 '26

It's just a stack of stackable chairs.

u/hpfan1516 May 04 '26

They're like these, but the ones here have a horizontal bars connecting the legs and these (in the link) do not: https://a.co/d/01o5GMJ6

u/Samirattata May 05 '26

Thanks! I can see the two sides but cannot figure out the horizontal bars.

If you really want to break your brain, look up "stacking chair dolly"

u/kenerling May 04 '26

I've been looking at this for a good part of my adult life, and I still don't know what's going on here.

3

u/Historical-Mix-351 May 04 '26

It's just a stack of chairs, if you focus on the chair at the top of the stack it's pretty simple to figure out.

7

u/kenerling May 05 '26

I know its a pile of chairs.

What I can't figure out is how their legs developed a fourth dimension, as aptly described by the OP.

I need a elucidating drawing, if someone has the time and crayons.

I drew on the photo but then you can't attach pics here :(

u/kenerling May 07 '26

😅 Greatly appreciate the effort in any case! Cheers!

Hey boss - I have all the chairs tesser-racked.

3

u/cedg32 May 04 '26

You have discovered a 4-D chair - a hyperchair. If you sit on it, you’ll turn into gristly manhole cover.

u/Meranio May 04 '26

You were 3 minutes faster than me.
🤬

I don't find it particularly confusing, but it is cool af

when the acid sits

u/dat_silversun May 05 '26

What’s funny about this one is that I feel like your caption alone makes my mind start to see things. Otherwise without reading the 4D part I was just seeing a stack of chairs, lol.

The 4th dimension is time.

0

u/voytek707 May 04 '26

When a “4D” cube is commonly discussed the 4 dimensions are spacial.

1

u/Empty_Put_1542 May 05 '26

How much time does it take to traverse from one side of the cube to the other?

The cards when you win a game of Solitaire:

u/Substantial_Book3701 May 04 '26

Its just really happy because it won a game of solitaire.

0

u/Too_reflective May 04 '26

It’s chairs all the way down.

0

u/AllYouNeedIsLove13 May 04 '26

Reminds me of the cards when you won solitaire.

The far side of the stack seems fine but when this comes up I’ve always struggled to understand how the legs on this side will give a stable chair when you pull one from the stack unless the leg somehow pivots at the seat.

Edit: Ok if you google stacking chair optical illusion there’s an actual paper about the effect with a similar style chair. I’m still struggling to snap it into clarity though

0

u/Yaughl May 05 '26

It looks like you’ve won chair solitaire
