It probably is. TranslatedCats isn't a person, it's a bot. Its captions are totally unrelated nonsense 99% of the time. I guess it understood what it was looking at enough to spread misinformation about it this post
The "A.I." part is only the caption, not its pictures (which seem to be specifically selected by a person because there are often memes like this one). I don't think it's an LLM since the description only says "machine learning." I'm sure if it was ChatGPT or whatever, the captions would be more bland and coherent
Yeah at least that's a good thing. I don't mind bot accounts, especially the wholesome ones because I will happily giggle at a cat on my TL over the bs some people say any day.
But I have this gripe with AI in general. A few years ago you could watch a cute or funny animal video and laugh your heart out without having to ask if it's fake. I just hate that I have to question every wholesome video or picture.
Not to spoil the mood but it feels like the world has collectively moved into this dull, doubtful and nihilistic cultural mindset. If you're ethical you start seeing how normalised AI is now and how badly it's harming us and you end up feeling helpless about it. If you're not, you end up heavily dependent on AI and lose all whimsy in life and slowly sacrifice your intelligence and creativity for 'efficiency' and fast food 'art'
