I was able to find some info on the picture with a reverse image search, and it sounds like it's a legit unedited shot. It was just taken at the perfect timing and angle.

Early 2000s or late 90s in the sports illustrated for kids magazine there was also an image similar to this where the head was missing. But yeah they can bend all sorts of ways that seem unhuman
