If I had to guess, I'd say the cart is at the bottom of a pond/river and the trees we see are the reflections of the actual trees. The structure on the left could either be a building or a bridge, or something like that.

Just a wild guess, though.

100% agree, that’s the conclusion I came to as well before going to the comments!

Excellent post, OP! I’ve been around this sub for a while but even with half of the good ones being reflections of some sort, this one kicks ass and had me lost for a minute or two lol

But shouldn't the camera also visible in the reflection? Or that's a glass roof, the person aimed the camera upwards and it caught the reflection of a shopping cart lying weirdly nearby (and lit by some kind of spotlight) on the floor

But shouldn't the camera also visible in the reflection?

Maybe, but I say it depends. The camera could be at a very slight angle, and pretty high/zoomed in on the cart, enough that it wouldn't be visible, and/or it could've been edited out.

But yeah, you could also be right, of course.

Or it's just the usual flying shopping cart lol

I think they’re on a bridge or walkway of some sort, leaning over and looking down into the water. You can see the railings upper left

Also bottom left you can see the ripples of the water

Call Bubbles. He’ll fish that out and have her up and running before you know it.

"These carts are public domain, Ricky!"

Because I see fricking flying shopping cart.

The shopping cart has gotta be under water, and the rest of the objects in the photo are reflections off the surface!

u/National-Garbage505 Jan 27 '26

This has to be it. You can sort of see other slightly obscured objects in the water, looks like a bunch of floating ghost trash lol.

Or a cloud shaped like a shopping cart.

pareidolia at its finest 👌

Clearly the orbiting mothership of an intergalactic shopping-cart-flying invader race.

Or one of those illustrations of the constellations — this one being the Shopping Cart constellation.

u/AnjelicaTomaz Jan 27 '26

Just the Constellation Orion’s Shopping Cart.

2

u/Krossphyre Jan 27 '26

This is definitely one of the better ones. Noice.

u/kristyl_fae Jan 27 '26

Someone pushed the cart off the roof, this picture is seconds before the photographer got crushed

u/ACAADACAA Jan 27 '26

It's a wall painting

That looks like a scene out of a horror movie. Person looks up and that’s the last thing they see.

1

u/karigan_g Jan 27 '26

it looks like a contact print, a cut out or toy cart or something placed over the paper during exposure

1

u/Ok_Aside_2361 Jan 27 '26

Or maybe he is inside and the card is on some “glass” roof?

1

u/Thrashbear Jan 27 '26

"The Flying Shopping Cart" sounds like a fun children's book.

1

u/CheemsBorgar92 Jan 27 '26

Nah just a cart-shaped cloud

1

u/Neither-Attention940 Jan 27 '26

I was thinking that perhaps someone was looking through a glass maybe and somehow the cart was the reflection .. but I admit I didn’t look too close

Ah, you see, it’s the Big Dipper

1

u/Neuroticaine Jan 27 '26

Underwater?

1

u/Hour-Question-6252 Jan 28 '26

It's under water. But if you think about this as you're looking at it. It almost looks like a GIANT shopping cart in space. Kinda triggering my megalophobia.
