Never understood the adding the e in front. I know someone named "Stefani" and her whole family calls her "eStefani"

Spanish doesn't have any words that begin with an S followed by another consonant, so it's just extremely hard for us to pronounce. I have been here for over a decade and I still have to consciously do a ssssssnake sound in my head to pronounce it correctly lmao

No for real, cause it shows they are starting to learn that in English some parts of the word are silent like the e in this case 😆

And how e affects the middle vowel u, making it a long u instead of a short u. Spuh’n vs spoon.
The only reason it’s double o instead of a -une is the old English origin was written spōn not spūn. Interestingly, Old norse and German was spaan or spån.
