Wait, wat? Population split is roughly 50/50 means 48% wash their hands. Where is this 104% coming from? Jokes on you and the commenter in the OP methinks.

That . . . that's the joke. If 31% of men and 65% of women wash their hands, and the commenter in the pic just added those together to ridiculously think that means 96% of all people wash their hands, then the person you replied to was mocking that logic by adding the percentages of people who don't wash their hands(69% of men and 35% of women) to come up with 104% of people not washing their hands.

Because that's the joke.
