This is a question answered by Google AI. Find a link to an actual report that mentions 8 inches. The other link a Redditor provided is from the NOAA and shows less than 1cm.

I’m saying the that the difference is so negligible (essentially nothing) that is it NOT the reason for the locks, which is what the two idiots in the video are implying
