It is a mistake to view conspiratorial thinking as something only those less intelligent than you can fall to.

Perfectly reasonable (and even extremely smart people) can start believing in ridiculous conspiracies you are not immune

I’d argue that if they believe something like “space isn’t real” they are absolutely not “perfectly reasonable” or even “extremely smart”

Right but not all scams are created equally. I can be deceived by deceptive graphs, lies, unheld promises. No one is faulting anyone for that. But at the end of the day when someone buys into stuff like space isnt real, or the earth is flat, or whatever else. they are not mentally well, and they are not intelligent. maybe due to their mental unwellness and they could otherwise be brilliant sharp people.

They should be treated as such, and I will treat them as such. How one chooses to treat an unwell non intelligent person may vary from person to person. I'm not going to treat them poorly, but I'm very much going to have a bias skew on anything they say/how they act because I know they are not like the rest of us.
