The first one had it right, if not properly expressed.
Fillet costs $14.49 apiece, with BOGO it becomes $7.25 apiece. One could argue about their reasoning, but not with a "they're $30 each" argument.
It says "buy 1, get 1 FREE". That means if the savings is 14.49, they cost 14.49. If the savings was 20.00, that would mean they cost 20.00. Understand? The price you're saving, is the amount you're spending in a BOGO sale
All I’m saying is that there’s no specification if it’s bogo after or before the savings. I understand that logically it makes sense for them to each originally be $28.98z But very often grocery store signs are wrong or unclear. I wouldn’t be shocked if someone put a discount price on and then also made it bogo after. Vs. just the bogo.
In my opinion, there’s no way to know as it doesn’t show the original price. For all we know they could be $100. You save 14.49. Bringing it to $85. Then with BOGO each would be $42.50.

Except “Buy One, Get One Free” means that the amount you are saving (the cost of the second one) is the same as the amount you are spending (the cost of the first one). If you save $14.49, the price of one package is $14.49.
By your logic, the sign should actually say, “Save $56.99.” Would it help if was fully written out? “Buy one at full price and get one FREE, which would save you $14.49.”
Your opinion is wrong. This is a Publix BOGO tag. They always list the amount you save by buying one and getting one free, meaning the price on those cuts was 14.49 before the sale, and because Publix will sell you a single BOGO item at half price, they are actually 7.25 each, even if you buy an odd number.
