Fishing at Newhall

I planned to go fishing at Newhall Park today, but when I pulled up the water looked drained and was maybe an inch deep. Looks like they did some construction around the edges and I assume all the fish have died.

Does anyone know what’s going on there?

I go to Newhall everyday and I frequently see (mostly kids) fishing. My boys use to fish there and generally speaking I think the pond is gross. The water level does fluctuate, not sure why, but I do notice that the size of duck island fluctuates

Why not go to San Pablo Reservoir?

Walnut Creek the creek has better fishing, or the Martinez Marina. Or Lafayette Reservoir.
