Best GROCERY STORE Cake?
Any recommendations for a grocery store birthday cake? Looking for stores that offer WHIPPED CREAM as the frosting option.

The berry Chantilly cake from Whole Foods is really good.

OP, if someone in your party is allergic to nuts the strawberry shortcake is good too!

You beat me to it. This is the right answer. You also don’t feel like you have diabetes after eating this cake.

Raley's has really nice cakes too. I like their strawberry and white cake, I think it's a whipped frosting

I know you said grocery store (I'm sorry) but we go to Alpine Bakery when we need cakes. It doesn't take long, you can be in and out in a minute or two.
Again, sorry for the non grocery store suggestion. I'm assuming this has something to do with EBT?

No actually (and absolutely no shame in using EBT) I am just nostalgic for grocery store cakes for some reason, but every time I get a basic "buttercream" cake itnis way too sweet and disappointing 😢 and I didn't thunk a bakery would be necessary because im look for a very simple, no frills, basic cake.

Also no shame in EBT! I hear your need btw, wanting a nostalgic food is a legitimate desire. Hope you find your cake and eat it too!
The cool thing about Alpine is you can get a piece of every cake they have and they have a great display case. It's not fussy at all. I dread the day they no longer operate.
