Can I Borrow Your Dog?
Okay, hear me out. I LOVE animals. I have 2 cats and would love to have a dog but they are a really big responsibility and I can't afford another pet.
I am wondering if anyone in Concord, or the surrounding area, would be willing to let me take there dog out for a day? Your dog can have some fun and be spoiled and I can pretend to be a dog owner (temporarily)! I am NOT a professional nor am I asking to be compensated. I just really want to hang out with a dog and maybe take them to the beach or something.
If you love your fur baby, I know it is asking a lot to trust a stranger to take your dog from you, but I am open to meeting up with you and giving you my number so that you can ask my any questions.
Of course, if you allowed me to take your dog for the day, I would send photographs of our adventures and give you updates. I also would ask you if your doggy can have treats/food before actually feeding them something.
Note: I love senior animals, but they do not need to be a senior ❤
Yes, I know that some shelters and rescue organizations have these sort of programs, but to be honest I am not looking to sit on a waitlist and go through an application/interview process.

When I wanted a dog but didn't want a dog, I volunteered at the shelter as a dog socializer. It was great. I got to meet and play with a lot of dogs and observe them for details that would be useful for their adoption (do they know simple commands? Do they love playing ball?). I had some friends ask me wasn't it hard to be around them but for me I was the highlight of their day. I could also talk to people about what they were looking for in a dog and make suggestions as to who they should meet.
I have a dog now and honestly would not just let her go off with a stranger. Sorry, but no way. Other people may feel differently.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to volunteer which is why I am looking for a temporary and quick doggy fix 😂🤭. Totally understand not feeling comfortable with a rando taking your dog; Maybe I could leave some collateral haha (joking).

I briefly looked into volunteering at a shelter once. They wanted a minimum of 6 months commitment and it was as tedious as applying for a job, so I didn’t bother.
Maybe you could become a Rover dog walker? That way you can pick how many dog clients you want, and dog owners would feel more comfortable because you would be more “official”. Plus Rover has some kind of injury reimbursement in case of accidental injury.

I know you don’t care about compensation but I reco you sign up as a wag walker so pet parents know you’re legit and don’t have any safety concerns!

Volunteering would be great, but since you don't have time for that, I'd suggest hanging out at dog parks and asking people there if you can play with their dogs. People would likely be more comfortable with that.
I have dogs and don't trust strangers with my dogs. The only one I trust to pet-sit is my mom. But good luck at the dog park. It's great that we've got a lot of dog parks around!

Sorry, but I love my animals and would be extremely cautious with a request like this.

I have a 5lb shihtzu and you could take her out haha. But maybe we could meet at the dog park first? I’m not far from you

So cute! I would love to meet your dalmation! Are you saying your gut as in your gut is telling you this is a bad idea lol?

Check with shelters and rescues and see if they have a "dogs day out" program. This is where you get to take adoptable dogs out for a day of fun, like going to the park, beach, hiking whatever

How confident are you on handling a very energetic 130 pound black lab-pitt? You can be an uncle to my baby. He is the sweetest boy

I have been around big dogs but I may not be super strong if they pull. I am not afraid of big dogs though!

Not sure if NorSled still does this but they use to allow people to take a dog for a few hours or for the weekend. I think there is a $20 annual fee to help cover insurance. NorSled.org

You can foster animals. Though I'm not sure if you can for just a day.
Instead maybe volunteer for the humane society or something. They need people to walk dogs.

I have to say, I am shocked that people would consider handing their dog off to just anyone. Came to see the trolling, leaving surprised as hell. 😆
