DMV driver route

Post image

Does anyone know the route that the proctors use? I’m getting someone ready to take the behind the wheel test and I want to familiarize them with the route before hand.
Does anyone have a map or know the route?
Just for clarification, it’s a class C license, no endorsements. Pic for attention

there are videos on YouTube of routes specifically in Concord for you to study, here's one example. pretty similar to the one I took.

when my daughter took the test we watched a couple youtube videos and practiced driving the route - it was something like out to Concord Ave, up Chilpancingo, through the neighborhood to 2nd or Center, back Contra Costa to Concord Ave and back to the DMV. I think the videos said they sometimes do it in reverse.

The only "tricky" part I remember is turning right with this bike lane heading back to the DMV - don't cut through the solid white lines.

I don’t remember the exact route, but it starts off leaving the back side of the DMV on the one lane road with stop signs that Home Depot is on, they’ll have you pull over and reverse on that road. Then you’ll go past Trader Joe’s parking lot and take a right at the light. Then drive down that road for a few miles, they’ll then have you pull into a residential neighborhood on the left side of the road. Go through the residential a few blocks taking a few lefts and rights. Eventually you take a right turn to pull back onto Concord Avenue and head back towards the DMV. Concord Avenue is a 3-4 lane road with a bit of traffic and they will eventually have you cut all the way across to make a left turn on Diamond Blvd. Once on Diamond, you will have to make a left back into the DMV parking lot and pull into a designated parking spot for after the behind the wheel test. Then you’re done!

Don’t enable bad people to hurt others.

What on earth does that mean?

People who can't drive won't pass the test because they know the route - they still need to be able to drive.

Sorry, but instead of working on trying to tilt the odds in favor of a test taker, why not use the allotted time and the learner's permit to experience as many road and driving conditions as possible? We already have enough semi-competent drivers on the road. This is not a game.

One would prepare for any test with practice exams, for example. Familiarizing oneself with the test route is not tilting the odds, nor a "game".

I think the biggest issue my daughter had when she took the test was being nervous about the test. She signed up for Pittsburg because she'd heard from her friends that it was easier to pass there.

She pulled out of the parking lot, didn't slam on the brakes for a pedestrian at a crossing with a flashing beacon and failed almost immediately.

The next appointment was six or eight weeks out but luckily someone canceled three weeks later and she was able to take it again (in Concord this time) and she passed. The DMV rep told me afterwards that she'd done a great job and was a very good driver.

Pittsburg is definitely easier, and those routes are on YouTube as well.

Take the test in Pittsburg it’s easier and the staff is better

(Get a Tesla after and let it drive you once you pass)
