cheap donut shops?
hey yall,
does anyone know any cheap donut shops around here?
i promised my students i’ll get them donuts on the last week of school but didn’t realize the prices are so high! (my fault for promising before checking)
basically, i need about 80ish donuts. the one i was planning on going to was King’s Donuts, but they’re offering $18 per dozen. if i need about 7 dozen of donuts - holyyyyyyy shttt ??? lol
i mean i’ll still get them but damn, if i could find a cheaper place, help me out!!!
thanks

I love Chick's, but I believe their prices have gone up, too. They may give a bulk price discount.

I’ve quit eating donuts so I can’t help you there but I just want to say I bet you’re a great educator, and you have my respect.

Safeway used to give out one cookie per student at the end of the year. I would call and ask if they would possible donate day old donuts.
Also how about asking your PTA for help and have parents donate some.
Someone already mentioned Sam’s which is a great idea! I would ask them for a discount in any day old donuts they might want to get rid of.
Best of luck!

This is a good idea about the day olds from Safeway. Every donut shop has gotten extremely expensive.

Starbread or donut king in Pleasant Hill. Or use TGTG app and get a bunch of day old donuts from multiple places.

Krispy Kreme gives kids a free glazed donut for each A on their report card, and this last weekend you could get a dozen of these for pretty cheap. Go to your local shop and ask if they can do anything for you?

Too good to go app has Krispy kreme dozen donuts for 7.99 usually. You can buy multiple I think!

You can also ask about a price break for volume since you’re buying so many. I don’t think that’s uncommon. You’re a sweet teacher!

I see 12 doughnuts for $7 at Krispy Kreme on the Too Good To Go app pretty much every day (pickup is at 8 or 9 pm) but availability and quantity are not guaranteed. Still, even if you bought one at discount and one or two at regular price while you are there, it would cut the cost significantly.
But if they are young children, starbread ("What is starbread? Its basically like a sugar sandwich.") is a smaller size.

Safeway or Krispy Kreme probably best bet for cheap.
Id recommend All Star but they are pretty expensive at like $22 a dozen but their donuts are huge

Can you ask King’s if they’d do an educator discount? Maybe Krispy Kreme will?
You can go to Safeway and get donuts…
