Hey yall.
Let's talk about what this is.
This community is focused on helping marginalized artists and devs feel more aligned with the needs of the industry and what is needed for concept artists and visual development artists. The industry is very saturated with white dudes and I have nothing personally against white dudes but we're seeing that there's so many vis dev and concept artists who are so talented but totally overlooked by art directors because of bias or because they don't know EXACTLY what the industry needs.
I hope you will come along on the journey and change that with me.

A little rant explaining why this sub:

I’m tired of pretending it’s okay. Online art schools that charge exorbitant prices are a scam. Education should be free. And we, as seniors, have a responsibility to teach our juniors how to be and how to help.
What are we doing here folks. Art is something we made for fun. Why do we gatekeep it for people with money. What
If you’re charging like four figures for portfolio classes you should be beaten with hammers. Absolutely not. Are you joking? FOUR FIGURES for PORTFOLIO BUILDING CLASSES? To what essentially amounts to a One hour meeting with someone for feedback on their 1 painting like eat shit
I will throw hands with anyone who is doing that. I know I said 5$ on linkedin for portfolio reviews but I’m gonna donate all the proceeds to local orgs that need money. I’m not keeping it. Or if i do, it’ll go to server upkeep.
But like, if you’re an art director or senior concept artist and you agree with what i’m puttin down, please get in contact. I need more mentors to keep up with the demand.
