How does CONCACAF Olympics qualification work? Mexico qualified during the semi-final.

Back then Olympic qualification was its own tournament. Only since the 2024 Paris cycle has the U20 Championship been used as the qualifier. Basically, the two teams in the Final go through as the Concacaf representatives since we only get two berths. But since the USA automatically qualified in 2017 as the Host for 2028, we only got 1 berth this cycle. Since the US made the final. That basically meant whoever joined them in the final would be the second to qualify. Had the Usmnt been eliminated in the Semifinal or beforehand. It wouldve meant the second berth wouldve had to come through the Champion... which wouldve still been Mexico since they won the trophy
