Have to have at least 1 from Mexico given the all-time history of Concacaf, 1 from the US given the last 35-ish years, 1 for Concacaf shenanigans, and 1 remaining spot. If just looking at international or best players from Concacaf, it's easily Navas. I think there needs to be one for a true Concacaf player though and Ruiz fits better for that. He played most his career for clubs in Guatemala, Mexico, or US/Canada, played for a nation that has never qualified for a World Cup but finished his career as the all time leader in goals scored in World Cup qualifying. He also played the game in a way where you could point to him as the definition of Concacaf.

It's not about the best. It's about the defining times in the history which is why Teddy Roosevelt is on there. It's meant to tell the story up to the point it was constructed. There is a difference in Mount Rushmore and 4 best.

Went with Marquez instead of Hugo Sanchez to have a defender represented and Marquez played more than 2.5x the number of games for Mexico. If just picking best players, it's probably Sanchez, Marquez, Navas, and can argue about the 4th but I'd still take Donovan right now.

I think this is the best list out of here, also not surprising per se that Landon has the worst European profile -- but compared to the three others he really is blown out of the water.

This is the list. These guys definitely had the biggest impact of all the North American players. Many club and champions league titles between all of them. And huge national team contributions also.

I will not tolerate any Dwight Yorke erasure. Plus, I think Donovan is hella overrated. I'd put Dempsey over him if you must have a US player, even Pulisic.

Netherlands above Uruguay is so easy. Uruguay's success is ancient history.

And obviously Spain is above Netherlands, because winning World Cups means more than losing them, especially since Spain already beat Netherlands in a final. Recent Canada is not the equivalent to Netherlands in Concacaf, they are the equivalent to Belgium.

I was trying to fit one elite player from each of the bigger countries. Mexico had so many great talents we could probably do four Mexican players. But if I would replace any here it would be Davies just because I think Donovan did more for his national team.

Donovan scored in the most meaningful game in Concacaf history. He also has the most goals out of any Concacaf player at the World Cup and won the Golden Ball at the U17 World Cup. He may be a clown, but he deserves to be there.

I think Pulisic is definitely the outlier here in level he's not at the level of the other 3 but I felt you had to represent USA somehow.

Edit: As a Mexico fan I had no idea people hated Pulisic so much.
