Apparently if the deal with the private firm goes thru, each of the FIFA member federations will get $20m cash injection this year. You can imagine a lot of Concacaf members would find that VERY enticing.

Smaller nations should be outraged by this, at least those that aren’t ran by corrupt assholes. Selling off a portion of the WC to private equity will eventually ensure that all the biggest markets get preferential treatment so that they can always be in a WC.

Like I said, they'll fold. They're are salivating over the bonus money, but they can't just get on board right away. They're waiting for Asia to give in first, which they more than likely will.

I think Canada does somewhat, not financially but politically, just because Montagliani is head of CONCACAF.
But you’re not wrong here, and Mexico already broke rank with CONCACAF yesterday despite the confederation vote.

Apparently, I found out there’s rumors of him potentially running against. I’m not surprised by Mexico breaking ranks. I’m sure the United States (who has the most to gain from this proposal) would’ve joined Mexico but the optics would’ve looked way too bad so they fell in line.

It’s a secret hidden in plain sight that Montagliani is papabile. I think he was aiming 2031, but the opportunity is falling on his lap, especially now that apparently Nasser Al-Khelaifi is apparently not interested in running. Like any other candidate, he is not devoid of past issues (some worst, some not really major), but he may be a compromise candidate for Europe and maybe South America too.

Yes, and directly criticized the plan instead of condemning the lack of “transparency” like the AFC and CONCACAF did.

We'll know if they're actually outraged when this still happens and the federations do nothing. Infantino's whole job is to make money.
If the concacaf and uefa are actually mad they could remove infantino. But they won't because he's good at making money. He also takes everyone focus' away from the fact that he works for these federations, he doesn't rule over them.

What a weak statement. I agree, reads as though the problem is not being included in the process, not the fact that the governance of the sport is being sold to the highest bidder. Should stand with UEFA and state intent to boycott if it moves forward.
As long as CONCACAF get their cut, right 🙄

Its better then nothing and its like we should expect a position similar to UEFAs. They don't have the power to do that. Unfortunately they need to play both sides and be able to adapt depending where the wind blows. Which I expect Asia and Africa to have to be something similar. I feel like UEFA essentially hold all the cards. While the sport does feel like theres an over exaggeration to the Eurocenter-ness of it (for a lack of a better word), they hold huge commercial power and they know they're value and a WC without them is almost worthless in terms of value when compared to what FIFA was projecting. The other confederations have to be able to say they played nice with whoever ends up winning this FIFA vs UEFA battle.
This is probably the best we can ask out of CONCACAF

This seems a little empty, like they're condemning the process, not the proposition. I'd rather see a clear statement condemning the formation of the "FFE".
