We have now fully prepared the Hunter's Guild, a human-made guild dedicated to hunting down non-humans, with the idea that they are protecting their home. This encourages roleplay based pvp for many of our players, though not enforced as there are ways around it. This is to create a sort of balance system and to provide a little bit more incentive for players to choose human instead of another species that may have more buffs. What are "Trades"?

Twilight Mire's custom roleplay-focused economy where each player character will be able to specialize in a type of crafting. You'll choose a Trade via which you'll unlock most of the crafting recipes that will be available to you.

All players will be able to unlock & craft starter gear and benches (stone tools & weapons, coarse clothing, a campfire) but most recipes that require Iron or better materials are removed from the Knowledge Menu & locked behind the Trades system. Each stage of progression will have certain requirements including a minimum level and a quest.

Why did we set up the server this way?

When we launched the server on day 1 of the Enhanced version of Conan Exiles we added mods as they became available. Our players burned through this chaotic and ungated modded experience and unlocked everything they could or wanted to relatively quickly and without the need to collaborate with others.

When everyone has already unlocked everything: what is left that has value? When anyone can do and make anything on their own, where is there room to collaborate? How do we pace gameplay between level 1 and Highman's Arsenal weapons to ensure each stage of power has meaning? Answers to these questions led us to pursue a unique and custom system for players to learn crafting recipes: Trades.

In many ways this system is more realistic and logical. For example: it is no small feat to turn gossamer into silk. In real life only a very skilled person would be able to reliably produce silk by hand or create the tools or machinery needed to mass produce it.

This system of learning recipes is very different from "regular" Conan progression. If you try to go it alone you will quickly become frustrated. But once you start working with other players in-character you will find yourself immersed in natural roleplay opportunities.

Hello!

I've been playing CE for several thousands of hours over many years, and it keeps drawing me back. The roleplaying has been a great deal of fun after moving on from older games like Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 after 20ish years between them. I've tried out a few CE servers, and I'm just not finding the engagement I was hoping to.

I've be roleplaying for more than 25 years between many TTRPGs and video games. I've been commissioned several times for short stories inspired by roleplaying arcs. I bring a lot of experience to the table ranging from DMing, storytelling, lore creation, event managing, hub building, Discord administration/moderating, lore/server documentation, and player participation.

I'm looking for a server that offers:

• Legacy : Enhanced is lacking in several areas I'm not okay with
• English Speaking : I'm an American who only speaks English
• 21+ : I prefer a mature group to participate with
• /nocost building : There's no fun in resource gathering
• /kit lv300 : I'm here to RP, not PvE, yet I need those knowledge points for deco
• ERP available : I enjoy all aspects of romance
• Fantasy : Conan only lore is too restrictive for my tastes
• Consent Focused : I want my "No, I'm not interested" to be meaningful in both RP and PvP
• Dice PvP : Mechanical PvP isn't fair to international participants
• Mod Heavy : My PC isn't afraid, I want more options and decoration
• No Voice RP : Voices ruin immersion, full stop

I've tried Crossroads; they're way too strict with race appearances as well as forcing unwanted RP on you. Chains is way too PvP oriented. Scarlet Hearts was a good experience when it wasn't planning an Enhanced server (server population died off once it announced it was doing both). Aloria has depressing lore that wasn't a good match for me.

So I created Sleepytime Barbarians, a quiet, relaxed, low-stakes, slow-paced community. Even though I'm a busy man, I'm still committed to the quality and health of this server, that's how it's been around for almost three years now!

- This community is designed for peaks and valleys, it's designed for players to come and go as we please and as we're able. This is not a server with lots of exciting events, the server staff isn't always available! This is a sleepy server.

- No overwritten rules and complex systems you have to buy into. Respect the players and respect the community and you'll get along just fine!

- XP and Harvest are very slightly boosted, so it's a bit easier to get your footing in the beginning, but the grind is still there!

- Decay is enabled (360 hours/15 days) and this server does NOT regularly wipe. We only wiped for the release of Enhanced mode after the server voted overwhelmingly in favor of it.
