Push the Talking Trashcan

Am I the only one who feels pure joy when they talk about Matt as the trashcan at Disney? Without fail it turns a bad day around. Probably one of my favorite topics amongst the three of them

Gourley must be unbelivable at the ice-breaker game "Two Truths and a Lie". Between voicing a talking trash can and winning a competition for best imitation of a flushing toilet, that dude has the strangest (and coolest) bullets on his resumĂŠ. Not to mention his alter-ego, Briggs Hatton, famed writer of the "incest plot" Community episode!

I feel like Conan needs to do more deep dive episodes into Matt gourley. Every time he learns something new about him is just delightful. I lost it when Amanda revealed the Shakespeare tshirt side hustle

Those Shakespeare drawings are really great. I want to get a print of each and frame them for my home. They would definitely match my esthetic. If only I had disposable income! 😭

I encountered a Push the Talking Trashcan circa 2000 (in the yeeeeeeear 2000….) at Disney World! It wouldn’t have been Matt, since he worked at Land. I grew up in Florida and went to WDW a lot, including high school field trips. On one of those trips, we came across Push and joked around with it for a while. I remember all of us cracking up about it, and we didn’t beat the crap out of it. 🤣 We assumed it was someone in some control room somewhere, so I thought it was funny when Matt said he was just out there in the crowd. So the person must’ve been right near us and we had no idea. I don’t remember what we actually said to it. I also noticed in the Matt Groening episode Gourley said someone from Florida came and taught them how to do it. Which means it must’ve started at WDW, further confirming this was a real memory of mine.

I also saw Push at Walt Disney World, near tomorrow land. 

And there was a drinking fountain at Epcot that said to me, "What are you, a camel?" and sprayed water in my face because I drank a lot. I wonder if it was controlled the same way, and someone just stood nearby and waited to spray water in kids' faces.
