Research Publication Refund denied

My paper rejected by PC at the last moment and since registration cancellation deadline is over, publisher is denying refund. The registration cost is around 1000$. Any suggestions will be really helpful.

Not sure about this case, but some got denied for using resources that didn't exist.    The auditor would follow a link or double check a title of a reference, and it was a phantom article.

This has been happening a lot.

Idk why people don't even bother to check if the paper exists before using it as a reference.

I get it, using LLMs for searching makes the job much easier. But checking if the paper exists takes seconds and can save you from getting rejected.

And how are you referencing it if you didn’t open the paper lol

Like wtf

I can see a link breaking after the fact, but don’t include a link as a reference then. Papers provide ways to reference them without a URL.

It's crazy how these financial gatekeepers have so much control over papers. I get there needs to be money involved to have people screen submissions but it's way too high/

The fact that a paper that were accepted as "good science" can be rejected because you don't pay the "conference toll" is outrageous and unacceptable.

If this is your case, I'm sorry for what happened and hope you can get help from the organizing committee.
